I know this move surprises a lot of people but as I suspected it really comes down to being open to committing for two seasons. Bobos skill set is replaceable but we don’t have the capital to do it this year and the money isn’t enough to waste the capital on his replacement.

I'm not surprised in the least. Everyone loves this kid, fans of course but the players as well. You want guys like him in the locker room. Plus he is great on special teams and clutch when we need him.

it will only cost $500,000 more to keep him than to cut him. He would really have to shit the bed to not be worth the extra 500k

Yeah, with JSN, Shaheed, and Horton, I would think Kupp is out next season and fill that spot with a cheap young guy
