Getting the team back next season (or soon)?

Never understood why they ever allowed to move in the 1st place!! Hope all the talk/rumors are true. Can’t think of 2 better places to add an NBA team to- Seattle and Vegas. Both places are no brainers IMO!

2028 is what they are saying, plenty of threads on why they got moved
and many people are done with the NBA because they allowed and helped
it happen.

The hold up on keeping Sonics in town was a lack of an Arena. The Seattle Arena is still lacking in what the owners and commissioners thought was sufficient in parking, and seats.

Sounds like today's the day the 30 team governors vote on "exploring" adding expansion teams in Seattle and Las Vegas. For it to proceed, 23+ must approve. Get it done!

As a Blazers fan this makes me happy. I need some trash talking again. I have zero doubt they will accept an offer over the next few months and the team will play in 2028. I hope the first game back is Sonics vs Blazers. You guys sign Durant and we will kick the tires on Oden for a game

And...... it's been approved! But just "exploration" into the two cities. Guess there's still another approval on some future date that has to happen for those cities to definitely be getting a team...?

I feel like they wouldn't have approved it, unless there was already some inside knowledge of potential owners for both expansion teams

Everything I've read or heard about what's going on makes me think it's very likely they're coming back, but they did not confirm expansion and it's not a done deal.

They voted to explore expansion to Seattle and LV, but they did not vote to actually expand. Big difference.
