Again, I find the "boxer wadding" about front office choices in players to be a bit over the top. JS, as the GM, doesn't just willy-nilly sign guys to the roster. The coaching staff expresses their needs-wants-desires and they look over what is available through the draft scouts and vet scouts. There is a process for picking the guys they pick and signing them. I would extrapolate there is "something" the offensive coaching staff likes about Drew Lock. We can spend weeks in conjecture about what that is. Boils down to the front office solidifying the team as best they can before the draft and their higher rated FAs are signed with other teams.
A contract for 2 years for $5 million is a hell of a deal. We only have Howell for this year. And, for the love of all that is Holy, stop thinking we are going to pick a QB from one of the worst QB draft classes in a decade. Y'all's fanboy for some of these young men is utterly ridiculous.
