I don't see where it's that far off or a sleight of Seattle's offseason. There are 14 teams on the positive side of that ledger, meaning there are 18 on the other side that he's thinking got worse. For us, this offseason is about repairing the damaged salary cap and signing some players to fill out the roster. I think more of a "hackish" take would have us as a big negative on that kind of chart, so he was actually pretty complimentary. And the chart kind of makes sense. Atlanta has a big upgrade at QB, and that tends to have an outsized effect on results.

I'm gonna reserve judgment until after the draft as we don't know how these FA moves play into their draft choices. The Falcons had a crap ton of salary cap that the Hawks and other teams didn't have. So yeah they made a lot of moves. I'd rather look at the offseason as a whole.

It is all opinion based by people whi know less than the decision makers in the teams.

It might well of teken account of our new head coach, the person who wrote it might think Morris will be a HOF head coach, and gave the Falcons a big score becasue of it. Will Mike improve our team? I hope so but it is far from certain, Pete consistently produced a team that was in contention for and usually got in the play-offs but after RWs rookie contract ended was never likely to go deep, Mike might lead us to the Super bowl of he might lead us to a 5-12 season. To improve our front office need to perform better than the other 31 most knowledgable teams of people at building a football team, the knowledge of the joulelistics who post these things is miniscule in comparison.

Yes, trust management and don’t have an opinion contrary to theirs. Not sure why some of you even come to a discussion forum.
Because, my wife just locked me out of the house and I have nothing better to do, except work on my vehicles and veg out on this discussion forum. Oh, if she only knew how content I really am right now...

Does it hurt to be that stupid? It's dumb to condemn the results without seeing anything first. No one calling this clickbait trash is guaranteeing success this year. Do us all a favor and jump off the bridge already.

I don't know what people expected. We spent very little on outside free agents, lost more players than we signed, our starting QB is seen as about as middle-of-the-road as they come and is hitting an age where the position often drops precipitously, and our entire coaching staff - while very promising - is replete with inexperience at their current level. That's not to say it won't work out, but it'd be naive to expect the hoards to unanimously believe we've knocked the offseason out of the park.

I'm hopeful, but I'm certainly not going to automatically dismiss anyone who isn't jacked on our past six weeks as irrational haters.

Also, the reason there are so many bad teams near the top of that graphic is because bad teams usually NEED to spend more. It's not necessarily some comprehensive list of who will be good and who wont.

I just looked at The Athletic's "NFL 2023 offseason winners and losers" article from last June. Here's what they had:

Winner: New York Jets
Loser: Aaron Rodgers

Winner: NFC North Teams (Lions and Vikings were highlighted, it was mostly about how the Packers' QB change opened up the division)
Loser: Arizona Cardinals

Winner: Houston Texans
Loser: San Francisco 49ers

Winner: Seattle Seahawks
Loser: LA Rams

Winner: Russell Wilson :ROFLMAO: (note: laughing emoji inserted by me)
Loser: Las Vegas Raiders

Winner: Baltimore Ravens
Loser: Buffalo Bills

Winner: Joe Burrow
Loser: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Winner: Other NFC South Teams (Saints and Panthers highlighted)

Trust me when I say that no success on this forum will in any way compensate for the train wreck that is your real life.

The hype with the Falcons is off the charts. Reality is that the entire NFCW could smoke the Falcons. Most of the NFCN could smoke the Falcons and most of the NFCE.

What did the Falcons do that was noteworthy? They added Cousins at QB that is coming off a major injury. Then they signed and traded for a bunch of slot WRs. Honestly does that deserve them to be #1 on the list by a wide margin compared to most teams on the list? I do not think so.
