    I'm usually against paying top position players, but in his case what he brings to the table even when not being thrown the ball as well as locker room culture. He is worth it at this current time.

    Call me crazy...but I'd rather put more stock into the O-Line. Because if/when injuries happens, that insures that core keeps the entire offense running. You could have Marshawn Lynch as a RB and if you're O-line isn't producing, it doesn't matter.

    Every one of these people want to progress their career and being able to turn around a horrible team gives them a great opportunity for that resume vs staying on a team that is more likely to go down than up having just won the SB.

    My opinion. If you are trying to win in the next 1-2 years and fall off sharply after...pay him. If you're accepting a drop-off next year and trying to stay competitive for the next 5-6 years him, let him explore. I personally would let him go and utilize the salary elsewhere.
