    Sam Howell traded to Vikings

Which GM has? And which GM has done it without spending a 1st or 2nd round pick? And which GM has done it without actually just striking it lucky with a guy who was actually capable of starting in their rookie year and therefore didn't need "grooming" behind an entrenched starter. Drafting QBs...

    Pick 92: Jalen Milroe

I think it's a really cool and interesting pick. He's a 2 year starter - change in coaching staff and offensive style makes it hard to understand where his ceiling lies. If you look at Wilsons NC State college career it was good if not spectacular, it was really his year at Wisconsin that...

    Four picks one OL selected

Yes I am truly astounded that they have picked only 1 OL with their first 4 picks and wasted picks at safety, DL, TE and QB where we have no issues

    Shaun Alexander calling the picks

I've said many times it goes both ways - Walt and Hutch also had the benefit of run-blocking for some of the all-time greats, Walt spent most of his career blocking for Ricky Watters and Shaun Alexander. Hutch spent most of his blocking for Alexander and Adrian Peterson. Unfortunately too many...

Joe Milton Traded to the Cowboys

Well yes - they are trading for a guy who has a single start, in a meaningless game against backups, vs a guy who started every game in the season prior, and a guy who was the 3rd overall pick.

    JSN and KUPP

Tyler Lockett, a 5'10, 180lb receiver who missed just THREE games over 10 years despite breaking his fibula and tibia in his 2nd year. No games missed due to concussions, no keep-him on the sideline days because he was covering from injury. Played in 76% of offensive snaps in the 161 games he...

    Coop Presser

Not just Darnold but a guy like JSN as well who is already an excellent route runner - the two of them together should be able to really create something special. With regards to injuries, I'm always a bit more optimistic about guys who have injuries early in the season and then come back...

    Seattle releases players

Maybe he was JAG but he wasn't paid anything near an All-Pro salary - there are 25 players on D-line with a $17m plus APY, 24 of them paid more than Jones was. Unfortunately that's the nature of the position now, you need to pay a lot to get even reasonable talent.

    Would you trade Bobo?

Bobo is a guy who - if we lost him, wouldn't really make a difference to the team. But at the same time, whoever you draft with a 7th round pick is likely to be the same. So you either let him go for a 7th because you found another guy in the draft and so you reckon you're going to cut him...

Clay Mathews speaks about hit on ME3

If an offensive player "blocked" Clay Matthews the same way he "blocked" Russell Wilson it would almost certainly be a 15 yard flag - a shoulder charge isn't a block. Defensive players can tee off on the offense but it doesn't seem to work the other way around.

Clay Mathews speaks about hit on ME3

Wilson was fair game to be blocked - but you don't need to go in with a shoulder charge to do that and free the runner, he could have gone in with hands up for a proper block but that was a hit for the sake of hitting (and he admits as much). Kam was at trying to prevent a catch and if you go...

Clay Mathews speaks about hit on ME3

That was a tackle on a player who was in the process of catching the ball though - it's fair game to be on the receipt of a hard in those situations.

Geno Smith Time in Pocket: Tied for 15th in NFL

Great stats! Also shows he had fewer "poor passes" than any other player than played 17 games!

Now you need a legitimate dual threat QB…

Patrick Mahomes in 2024 had 58 rushing attempts which he converted for 22 first downs, while Geno had 53 rushing attempts which he converted for 19 first downs. 2023 Geno's numbers were well down while Mahomes had 27 first downs - but recall he was dealing with a knee injury for most of the...

Apparently Ben Johnson loves Sam Howell

There is almost no greater predictor of a team not winning a superbowl within 5 years than losing 12 games or more. Since 2001, the average record over the previous 4 seasons of all superbowl winners is 10-6, and of the teams to win a superbowl only 1 has lost 12 games or more in the preceding 4...
