Woolen is good but not the right fit for Macdonalds defense. Bryant was good but so is Okada. We drafted Bud Clark and Julian Neal. These 2 are ABSOLUTE ball hawks and are gonna take our D to another level. The Texans didn't even finish top 5 last year in Defense, and they're not even gonna be in the top 5 this year either. Just like the Rams, they'll be in the top 10 for defense, maybe. I'm not sold on wither one of those teams defensively.

Of course, yes that's true. I just wish we'd get past the knee-jerk reactions. Once you see the "what", delve into the "why". Lists are subjective. I've said here a million times if you don't like someone's list, make your own. It would be equally valid. Unless.... you allow for the possibility that some of the national scribblers and/or jabber heads watch a lot more of all 32 teams than the average Seahawks.net poster, and maybe we can learn to see a slightly bigger perspective from those who clearly put some work into their analysis.

Lists are designed to fill time for an audience that wants to consume football 365 days a year. I think one of the big problems that fans have is that listmakers rarely own their lists after the fact. They just make new lists.

They are likely 4 th best running backs and 4th best tight ends and probably number 2 in wide receivers . They have the best offensive line which is probably the most important, but that is not considered a “weapon”

Fans will always silver-line and optimistically project their own players, so I imagine that you'd be able to defend having the 49ers ahead of the Seahawks at running back and tight end. On the flipside, I can say that McCaffrey is 30 years old and coming off of 400+ touches, while their backups are just as unproven as Price. And Kittle is going to be 33 and coming off an achilles. I think the Seahawks have a much deeper wide receiver room than the Rams as well, not to mention that Adams will be 34 with ongoing declining production (catches/yards). It's like the power rankings debate where none of it matters any way though, and it all gets recast after week #2.

Not sure where you're getting your information, because the Texans D finished not just in the top 5, but in the top 2.

The Seahawks D finished #1 in points per game at 17.2. The Texans D finished #2 in points per game at 17.4. Both were very, very good, and only separated by the tiniest of margins.

Also, the Texans D finished #1 in yards per game at 277.2. The Seahawks D finished #6 in yards per game at 285.6.

Of course, Seahawks fans are probably going to say our D is the best. Texans fans are probably going to say their D is the best. Everyone else is pretty much splitting hairs. Anyone claiming that either one is clearly significantly better than the other is probably basing that on very little other than bias and homerism. It certainly isn't some wild, outlandish take to think that the Texans D might be ever so slightly better than ours this season.

Yes, Kittle and CMC are likely hall of famers. There is no universe where they will play like hall of famers next year, though.

And touchdowns are transient and situational year-to-year. Adams won't touch last year's total IMO, but opinions are just opinions...

I watch her show sometimes and I'm baffled most the time as well. She suppose to be this diehard Seahawks fan but is always....not trashing them, but always labeling them not good. I just watched her 10 top defenses of 2026 and she has Seattle at 2. Why Kimes, why do you have Seattle at 2? and the Texans ranked at 1. We didn't lose that many players, and they were replaced with arguably better talent. More than 3/4 of the defense is back. Once again, we will finish number 1 in Defense and the Texans won't even be bin the top 5. I don't know why Kinmes keeps labeling Seattle in like the bottom half of the league, it makes no sense. She ranked Darnold not even in the top 15. Whatever Kimes, you wanna be a Rams fan then go be a Rams fan. You wanna be a Texans fan, then go be a Texans fan.
