MM is basically constructing a blueprint on how to be successful consistently as much if not more than PC ever did because its laid out so you just follow the process and I read win forever it wasn’t as clear and that’s how he has coach by breaking down the game and making it easier to understand for players and coaches alike which works in life too
I don’t wanna use the word but dynasty incoming and dynasty was the word lol

So, MM said that he isn't as adept at understanding offensive play and is more dialed into a defensive scheming, but I contend that in order to be good at formulating defensive play calls, one has to consider countering the plays put out by good offenses, no?
I think you have to have a handle on both sides of the ball to be as successful as he has been.
This was a great listen; I love seeing a true genius at work.

IMHO it would be really difficult to run both sides of the ball. I feel he is realistic in his capabiliities and lets those who specialize in offense do there thing. That is what makes him so good. Get good people around you and let them shine for what they were hired for. Not a control freak.

Oh, I totally understand where you're coming from on this, and Mike Macdonald has even said as much about letting his offensive coaches devise the offensive goings-on, BUT his ability to thwart MOST opposing offenses with his genius defensive mindset tells me that he understands more about offensive schemes than he's letting on, or he himself is even aware of; see, with his understanding of counter-offensive ingenuity he has the ability to help his own offensive play callers to take advantage of opposing defenses.
