Let's make a trade for another elite defensive lineman instead of Tibs. Jeffery Simmons is that guy, All-Pro DT, good pass rushing DT and great vs the run, also a alpha team leader in the mold of Jarran Reed.

I am a big fan of KT but I am not sure the Giants are willing to move on from him. For the Seahawks he would be given an opportunity to learn the system and shine at some point.
If he had been a UFA in March 2026 what sort of contract do you think he would have been offered?

I suspect KT would have been shocked and disappointed in what was offered.

There is No Way the Titans would trade Simmons for anything the team would be prepared to offer.

He'd for sure be nice to have but then again so would Garrett or any other star level DL. Simply said He'd costalotta and would want be paid a lotta.

If the Titans were wanting to trade for picks and a player for Simmons, then yes the Seahawks most likely wouldn't make that trade. But if the Titans were looking for more draft capital, then the Seahawks are in amazing position to make that trade.

Simmons is under contract for two more years at a reasonable price. When it's time for him to re-sign in 2028, that will most likely the year Leonard Williams will retire. Which then frees up money to extend Simmons.

Something a bit lower than Phillips received from the Panthers.
Phillips is getting $30M per year with the 1st 2 years guaranteed at $60M. If Thibodeaux was worth $24M per year it would be pretty much a no-brainer to trade a 2nd for him, (1 year delayed), at $14M. The team could then either tag him or get a compensatory 3rd round pick, (1 year delayed), if he left as a FA. Interesting. I didn't think he was rated that highly, but neither he nor his team were on my radar.
