We all know K9 wanted the ball more especially in the end zone so I don’t blame K9 for wanting a team that can give K9 the snaps that he is asking for.

Seattle gave K9 a lot of snaps but when Seattle did, K9, got hurt and that happens. Seattle lessoned the snap count and incorporated a dual back system and that frustrates K9 but it directly help K9 stay healthy and prolonged his season, so, I commend Seattle coaches for that decision and I fully agree Seattle made the right decision with tag teaming Charb and letting K9 leave.

All the best to K9, I hope K9, stays healthy during his time with KC.

No love lost with me.

K9 helped Seattle and Seattle helped K9.

All love!

I have no issues with K9 getting that bag. Seems like a cool dude. Even if was a little salty about having to split carries or not getting a big contract offer from Seattle, he handled things better than a lot of players do when they part ways with a team.

From the article:

“The team appreciates me over here and, like, being able to come somewhere there where you’re appreciated,” Walker said. “I definitely feel like I’ll be getting the ball a lot, be making plays and, yeah, I’m excited for this season.”

I honestly don't mind if he felt unappreciated, he may even be right. All I know is from my perspective I always expected him to be out for multiple weeks. I don't know if that translates to appreciation, but I certainly didn't view him as reliable and/or a part of our long term plans.
oh. Okay. Maybe I should've read the article instead of just going by what the OP (JazzHawk) put down.

But I wouldn't say he felt unappreciated.

Unless "unappreciated" is code for not getting paid enough....

Thanks K9: one of 2 Seahawks that were SB MVPs.

Malcolm Smith was demoted the season after his MVP performance when KJWright came back from injury. In comparison, Walker ended up in a much better situation. K9 got paid and gets to be the lead back in an explosive Offense. I think we're all happy for him.
Didn’t Malcom Smith sign a bigger contract with the Raiders after his Super Bowl MVP…? I guess I remember it differently.

I think his view of appreciation is more about being a main back and not split carries back. If we appreciated him more he would have been THE GUY, HE SHOWED HE CAN PLAY, but he also showed his durability was suspect taking that many snaps.

Many players cannot see they are not supermen, Even Lynch and I can't think of many Backs tougher was hurt with large carry seasons, he would not have liked being platooned either but maybe it could have added a year or too to his career.

K9 got paid, thanks for the contribution and you were made into a rock star here that KC will appreciate I am sure.

My long held opinion has been stated many times. Its all about value. Both sides ask the same question in negotiations. Sometimes it just can't be worked out. Sometimes the team is right, and sometimes the player is right.

I don't get myself attached to any player(or rarely do) because of the business side of the equation. I only ask for value in regards to position/performance. In this case, I have nothing but respect and gratitude for K9's time here and wish him well in KC. Happy he made his dreams come true...because he helped US make ours come true.

As far as K9's reasons for leaving and how he left. As far as I know he never trashed talked anyone. He didn't create any "situation" either way. He is basically taking the direction so many before him have. Good luck...thank you....stay cool and I'll always remember your time here with only good memories.

After K9's injury history, he can't really blame the team for wanting to manage his exposure. That's just dumb.

He was a Golden Tate or Bruce Irvin - a guy who was good, definitely did the job, made some good plays, but didn't quite justify the expenditure in context of the big contracts looming on the horizon for other guys.

I think you're right. After a season behind KJ, I think he went with KNorton Jr to Oakland. Wikipedia says a 2 yr 7mill contract.

Funny how quickly things change.
Brady becomes an announcer, soon after Russell wants to follow suit.
Stafford is entering his swan song season and Drake Maye got crushed.
It's now maybe the Fields, Walker, Kelce show in KC and suddenly Fernando Mendoza is the face of the NFL.
Seems like 5 or 6 of the top QB's are on teams that don't pose much of a playoff threat.

If the Seahawks make a deep playoff run and Darnold has another great year I don't know how the pundits & prognosticators can not put Sam at the top of the heap.
The Marlboro Man would be proud.

Sorry to highjack K9's "not appreciated" thread. But Mahomes is on the mend and the Chiefs don't seem to be much of a factor with their 3rd place (6-11) position in the AFC west.

I don't see anything in there that sounds unreasonable or like a malicious swipe at the team.

K9 was great. I would have been thrilled if there had been a way to keep him, but this is probably the best for both sides.

I hate the Chiefs though. I hope he wins the rushing title, but they go 4-13 anyway.
