I was thinking the same thing. Any one individual who's in a position to buy this team likely has ruffled some feathers. Whether it be political leanings, tax avoidance, industry stranglehold, etc. Look, nobody dislikes Facebook as much as me. But if this guy buys the team and isn't cheap with paying players and coaches, upgrading to state-of-the-art facilities, being on the cutting edge, and most importantly lets the football people like Mike and John handle football operations, I'm all for it.
I gave you a like based on the bolded.

That said, I would hate it so much if Zuckerberg was the owner but fortunately that rumor was just that....a rumor.

We should totally Green Bay it. I’m not even from Seattle..never lived there.

Just fell in love with the team in the early 80’s.

I’d pay for the city to own them…

Zuck you! That dude should be banned from anything I love. Can you imagine all the crap he would try to push on the team and fans. Winklehouse this face boy!

Who?

Every time there is a thread discussing potential ownership, the vast majority say here say “Hell no”.

Who then, who will make y’all happy?

My only hope is whoever owns the team will step out of the way and let the experts they hire run the business.
Probably Ballmer due to the Seattle ties.

The problem with Zuckerberg, Musk, Karp and all is the creepy way they all call each other techno fascists who want to seize control in the name of efficiency and only THEY can be the savior who can help society and apparently the others are dangerous.

Mabey Sam Bankman Fried, or Alex Mashinsky are available. They probably cannot be reached for comment, however.

The same city that shrugged and let the Sonics walk to Oklahoma? Just checking.

I put my bid in but not sure my $100,000 bid is going to make it through to the next round.

Yeah, let the city of Seattle run it. What could go wrong? They could us the stadium during the week for “unhoused.”

I mean Green Bay fans don't really OWN the team either though, not really sure why people keep referencing this as a good thing.. Green Bay ownership honestly just fleeced their fans for free money in the end game

"unique, civic, non-profit ownership with no financial returns. Shareholders do not receive dividends, the shares cannot be traded or appreciate in value, and they offer no season ticket rights. Ownership is essentially a symbolic, non-transferable (except for family) purchase that provides voting rights for the board of directors and an invitation to annual meetings"

ie: They made a ton of free money to refurbish the stadium that the owners could have afforded anyways

Steve Ballmer, yes, he is a Seattle resident with no intention to relocate:

Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer is famously "hands-on" in the sense of being an extremely active, enthusiastic, and highly invested owner, although he has stated he leaves day-to-day basketball roster decisions to his professional staff.

Here is a breakdown of his hands-on approach:

Financial & Infrastructure Investment: Ballmer is incredibly involved in the growth and infrastructure of the franchise. He personally funded the construction of the Intuit Dome, the new, technologically advanced home for the Clippers that opened for the 2024-2025 season.

Active Engagement (Not Just a Figurehead): He is notoriously high-energy, often appearing at games, in the stands, and engaging directly with fans. He has been described as "always on" and "hard-core" in his efforts to elevate the team.
Business Operations: He meets regularly (often weekly) with top-level team leadership, such as team president Gillian Zucker, to discuss business and marketing strategies.

"Asking Questions" Approach: While not setting the roster, Ballmer is involved in the high-level vision of the team, telling CNBC, "I add value by asking questions," rather than deciding the final roster spots.

Controversy & Investigation (2025): In 2025, reports surfaced regarding a potential investigation into whether Steve Ballmer (via investments in a company called Aspiration) acted to help facilitate a "side-deal" for Kawhi Leonard, which would constitute a major, highly involved, and prohibited form of "hands-on" engagement. Ballmer and the team strongly denied these allegations, claiming they did not violate salary cap rules.

Jeff Bezos officially relocated from Seattle to Miami in late 2023, where he lives in the ultra-exclusive "Billionaire Bunker" (Indian Creek Village) on Biscayne Bay.

Jeff Bezos has historically been an extremely hands-on leader, deeply involved in Amazon's day-to-day operations and customer service data. While he stepped down as CEO in 2021, he remains executive chair, having established a "culture of metrics" and a "working backwards" approach where he personally scrutinized operational anomalies.

Key Aspects of Bezos's Hands-On Approach:
Operational Detail: Bezos was known for diving into the minutiae of operations, often reviewing customer support data to identify root causes of problems.
Customer Obsession: He would personally call customer service to verify if the hold times reported to him matched the reality, ensuring high standards.

"Two-Pizza" Teams: He established a, rule that teams should be small enough to be fed by two pizzas to maximize efficiency and speed.

Decision-Making: He championed the use of PR/FAQs (press release/frequently asked questions) for new products and was deeply involved in the development of key initiatives like Kindle and AWS.

Present Day: Since becoming executive chair, his focus has shifted, with significant time dedicated to Blue Origin, although he retains a significant role in high-level company strategy and board oversight.
He is described as a, demanding and, direct leader who expected employees to understand the, "why" behind their metric.
