I agree, or at the very least they would only do that if there were enough guys remaining they'd be happy taking. Still raises the question though, is that not valid value for the trade? I feel like moving up a few spots at the end of 3 being worth any pick in the draft is good value? But I don't know the charts.

An upgrade at guard (Bradford) could have been something they did or even still do, but it isn't imperative. The oline is in the best shape it has been in since we had big Walt and Hutch and that's even with Bradford. They could make any position group better than it was and they did - The defensive backfield and the RB room. And the off season still has a ways to go.

And for the record, I was hoping they would take him. But....it's not about what we want. It doesn't work that way. JS knows 10 times than more than any of us will ever know about how to run a team.

I would have loved to get Jake Slaughter, the center from Florida. The dude was so good his entire college career and I think he'll end up being one of the better centers in the league. But I was 99.9% sure the Hawks weren't going to draft a center. lol

Happens every year. We'd have to have 10 or more picks per round to avoid seeing coveted players go to other teams.

Bingo. There is a sequnce of photos taken in the draft room with Mike and JS standing by each other as a pick becomes officially accomplished. Reading their simultaneous individual expressions as the potential becomes reality is priceless. It shows very clearly that the two of them are a match made in football heaven.

FAcy cost the team 2 in the secondary, a RB and Edge. Strengthening the OL seems like a good idea but you've got to choose. There are (were) literal holes in the roster. The 25 team won the SB. Do you try to strengthen a group that was elite enough to win the SB? ...or fill a hole that that is no longer on the SB winning roster?

I'm sure it's not as black/white as that, but understandable with the current picks.

The two 6th rnd picks could turn into more picks in the 7th. JS has used those for UDFA-type players that he didn't want to lose. That post-draft melee may be a huge focus for Seahawk FO this year considering the few picks and talent level in higher rounds. Seahawks normally do well with UDFA, but I could envision JS spending a lot of time and effort here pre-draft and that resulting in a large number of competitive players.

I like Sundell as well and he can shift to G if there is a C available. There was a C from I think Iowa that I thought we might take a shot on and have him battle with Sundell at C and have the other possibly slide into RG but I can't recall his name right now.

I'm not a fan of moving guys around the line if you don't have to. Listening to so many of those guys talk over the years, no matter what people say, it isn't easy. And especially moving from one side to the other. But I'd just like to see how far Sundell can go at center.
