  • Cowboys - Possibility. America’s team definitely has a chance at being the first game of the season for the NFL.
  • Giants - No way.
  • Chiefs - Mahomes still healing. Don’t think it will be KC. The League will try and protect Mahomes image as much as possible this year and being the first game against the Seahawks and possibly exposing Mahomes? I think the NFL wants to avoid a possible still hurt Mahomes getting destroyed by Seattle.
  • Chargers - Not many storylines with the boring Chargers, not likely.
  • Bears - The Bears hype and trajectory has been increasing and it would make for a great story with Ben Johnson’s offense vs Mike MacDonald’s defense. Call it very likely.
  • Patriots - Not as likely. Non Seattle fans hated the Super Bowl and probably a majority of the nation did as well and the NFL does not want to ruin the reputation of Drake Maye against the best defense in the NFL again. Maye is one of the NFL young QBs they want to build the shield marketing around, they will also protect Maye’s reputation at all costs.

I agree with this take, except for the minor point about the public’s perception of Seattle vs. New England. This year’s Super Bowl was the second most-watched ever. I doubt that would be the case if fans didn’t like the matchup.

People watched it. That doesn’t mean they liked the game overall. I have some family in California that said the game sucked. I loved it though. But majority of non Seahawks fans hated the game overall even though they might have watched it.

Pondering NFL Sunday Ticket again this year, but if we are in a bunch of Prime Time games it might be cheaper to just get individual games that aren't prime time.
How many Prime Time games do you think we will get?

Week 1 is guaranteed. There will be 1-2 Thursday games and you have to assume the reigning champ gets one each SNF AND MNF this year. That’s 4-5 minimum.

True. I enjoyed it because my favorite team completely dominated their opponent. If you were a Pats or a fan of neither team, you might have hated it for that reason. It was not a competitive game from the get go. And both offenses weren't scoring tds for the most of the game.

I wonder when the game in LV will be. Thinking of a Seahawk road trip this year and wondering if I come for the banner raising to Seattle or go to Vegas.
