As the 2026 free agency market continues to unfold, the veteran quarterback has emerged as a potential option for the Kansas City Chiefs, a development that has begun circulating across league conversations.

Wilson remains unsigned following his departure from the New York Giants, and his name recently appeared among the top remaining free agents still available on the open market.

OMG please let this happen!

For the record, I only included Walker in the title because I liked the cadence. I have no ill will towards him for leaving. I would very much enjoy a game where he rushes for 250 yards, but the Chiefs lose because Me3 goes 11/36 for 112 yards and four picks.

My guess is Kelce would be a big... 'HELL, NO!!'. He'd never see the ball.

It would be non-stop moon-ball after moon-ball incompletions to Worthy and Rice.

I really can't imagine Russell Wilson in a West Coast offense.

Not happening, the Chiefs just got Justin Fields from the Jets.
Unbelievable that even Justin Fields would be chosen over Russ. Fields was terrible last year.

It's even more unbelievable that a team would trade for Fields. They probably could have waited and got him for free after the Jets released him. Desperate teams do the strangest things.

They only gave up a sixth round pick next year and the Jets are paying all but $3m of what Fields is owed this year.

Still not great, but understandable given what probably happened. I assume the Chiefs' GM saw the news that the Cards signed Gardner Minshew, realized he totally forgot that guy was a free agent, and then thought, "Oh sh*t, we might actually have to sign Russell Wilson", so he traded for the first QB he could think of.

I can't see him in any offense that involves any sort of structure whatsoever. For how much he supposedly watches film, he's shockingly un-technical.
Someday I hope there's a podcast or some sort of interview with someone who coached Russ and they just spill the beans on how uncoachable he was. Often ignored offensive play calling which required receivers to compensate and "just get open" and was the kiss of death for any offensive coordinator's job security. I would imagine being fired when Russ was your QB is a badge of honor in NFL circles. How Pete kept it together and didn't suck start a Mossberg is stunning in retrospect.

Russ will have to take his game to Canada if he wants to play this year. At 66k cdn a year he will be playing for the love of the game....

Lucky you, I'll miss my entertainment of watching him be late with
the ball and doing his thing that often isn't good.
