There are obviously some who can’t see that if we had kept the three players that left at the salaries they got elsewhere we’d be in danger of losing JSN or Witherspoon!!! Or Murphy the year after. It’s a business and money is not infinite. Today went fantastic and I can’t wait to see what Schneider has brewing next. The present HAS to be managed with the future in mind or you end up like the Browns and Raiders of the world.

and the players we've kept have already proven themselves as starters, Jobe started over woolen for a long time this year. Shaheed.. who knows how healthy horton will be and if he can stay healthy and can be a deep threat with more chemistry with darnold, AND Ty Okada started half the season in place of Coby add in that our defense actually graded out better with Ty Okada starting.. a stupid tidbit i saw somewhere think Hawk Blogger pulled it up or mentioned it i don't remember 100%.

Well, I've flip flopped on the godamned issue about 3 times. Keep them both. Keep K9. Keep Shaheed. Lose them both.

Not the worst thing in the world. Glad Shaheed is back. He sure can take the top off a defense.

We should be able to replace K9's production. Should.

We had a great day...no overspending
We paid $17M for a 21 yard receiver. We are absolutely guilty of overspending. He will never come close to earning his salary, and by drastically overpaying Shaheed we just increased JSN's asking price by $10M per year. Overpaying Shaheed could very well cause us to lose JSN, and JSN could break both legs and still pick up more yards than Shaheed

What are you smoking?

This is not about comparing Shaheed to JSN. Dude is a game changer in special teams alone.

I don’t think that JSN is going to ask for $10milion more than being the highest paid receiver in the league in any circumstance. Take a deep breath. Look at the guaranteed money and remember Shaheed has the benefit of an offseason with the team. Also, new coordinator must like him and have plans to use him. Lastly, as others have pointed out, he is best special teams returner the Seahawks have had since Leon Washington. This is good news!

While i think you’re a bit overdramatic about it, i do mostly agree.

The only way this was worth it is if we somehow get the deep chemistry going with sam because Derek carr could drop bombs with RS and Sam only hit one and on that one RS got so much separation i could have made the throw.

Maybe that’s the plan- to ramp up RS in the offense.

No doubt sucks to lose anyone from a SB team.

As much as I like K9, I have faith in this staff…faith in Charbs…faith in our O-line.

I think K9 is going to have a rough time and won’t look nearly as good as he did near the end of last season.

Not hating but…I’ve flipped flopped on who should be starting in the past…we’ve still got a strong RB room and best believe JS is pulling a proven vet in.

People underrate how much time it takes for a QB WR pair to get on the same page. Give Darnold an offseason to work with Shaheed and he’ll be much improved. There were multiple passes that just missed Shaheed deep. They will hit more of those next season.

Today is full on JS offseason. Re-sign the guys you want to keep. Don’t overpay guys who will set a market on day one and fill the roster with guys who fit what you are looking for on reasonable deals.
