John's got some big Kahuna's leaving Bobo momentarily exposed with the league prowling, but that's why he's a top GM. That riverboat gambler in him seems to have the chips coming his way the last 2-3 years. With only 4 draft picks and a bottom slating & weak draft and a lot of key FA moving parts, this off-season holds some challenging decisions for JS.

I don't know how much truth lies in the guarded purse strings because the team is for sale rumour. But I can't imagine a SB team up for sale having spending restricted as long as they stay within the confines of the cap.

Try to structure contracts to save a little here & there while working with finite cap room in an attempt at bringing everyone back into the fold with 31 other teams nipping at your heels. This years balancing act is a tricky one but I think JS is hitting his stride at the right time.

Hopefully John can retain enough of our core players including Bobo & attract some new talent that noticed the DLaw path to a ring.

I'm sure JS informed Bobo of his intentions to release him, AND to bring him back at a lower rate. He's done it that way before, straight up honest, even if it's hard to hear.

If his name was Jake Smith, would people be losing their minds?
He has 34 receptions for 323 yards and 4 touchdowns for his CAREER.

This wouldn't be like losing a beast. I like Bobo a lot, but I'll barely raise a brow if they move on.

Yeah, the whole "More Bobo" thing was fun for us fans, but in truth he was never a huge part of our offense.

He is, though, the kind of blue collar fringe player that did what was asked of him and occasionally made significant plays to help the team. It's nice to have a few of those guys on the roster, cheap and useful.

Yep. I’d thank him for some fantastic plays and hope he’s able to break into a larger role on another team.

My devotion is to the hawks, it any player.

According to Schneider (during his interview with Pat McAfee at the combine), Jody's stated intent is to have the best sports team organization in the country, in any sport. You don't do that by sealing the purse strings. Schneider has said specifically, when asked about that very topic, that they are "business as usual", with no new spending restrictions since the team was put up for sale.
