Glad that Quandre diggs might have a chance to get a ring.
I don't disagree. I think fans cut him a hard deal for how things went toward the end, but I don't see how you can look back with context and not see that the whole system was F'd.
He laid it on the line for us for a few years when leadership and direction were already in doubt. He was one of the only pieces that worked on those defenses. Schneider knows that. He saw behind the curtain. He wouldn't allow a quiter on this roster.
Luke Willson talked pretty candidly about how pathetic the culture had become when he considered coming back to play for us.
I can't entirely fault a player who his entire career has shown to be an outstanding player and leader for giving up on coaches that (as it has been shown) wete giving the team a failed script, leading them to losses, and setting them up to fail.
Pete was fired. Clint was fired. The defense was rebuilt. And the guys who did all of that thought it would be good to bring Diggs back.
If his character was that of a quiter, guys like Schneider and MacDonald wouldn't bother sniffing him. Especially given how unemotional they have been in shipping guys like Baker and Dodson out - guys who didn't work and put quitting on plays on tape.
Happy for him if he gets a ring after toiling on Detroit teams that never had a chance and ours when we had entirely lost our way.
