I can see teams wanting to get the next Mike Macdonald, though. The same way teams keeping plucking from McVay's staff to try to get the next McVay.

Not saying he’s the next Mike Macdonald by any means whatsoever - I happen to think Mike is quite possibly the best defensive mind in the game today - but the closest candidate and formula to follow would be grabbing Minter from the Chargers. That’s the kind of direction I think the Ravens will go. I think they are kicking themselves they lost Mike out of their locker room.

AD would be the first British HC in the NFL, right? Anyway, MM will find a good replacement if it happens.
I mean, does it even matter at this point. Durde isn't even calling plays and probably won't be for another year if he stays here. I prefer Macdonald calling the plays anyway.

If he leaves I won't be sad lol They never talk about him on tv or anywhere. Everyone knows this is MM's play calling so if the Browns want him I say go get your Bag AD lol.

Being a HC these days is so easy money wise. You could get fired in 1 year and then don't have to work or go make more as a coordinator on top what a team is paying you Ie Raiders

Why would he ever get to call the plays?
MM has his way, it works great, no need for some hack to
screw up his baby.

Coach Mike said last year in an interview that once the defense coordinator whoever it is understands the defense scheme etc....will be calling the plays. Coach Mike also said it's a very complicated defensive scheme and could take awhile to learn.

This is also the Sean McVay offensive coordinator phenomenon. We will lose DC's from time to time, but this is ultimately Macdonald's defense, and we'll maintain consistency from coordinator to coordinator. The offensive side for us is the trickier one because you're more reliant on your staff, like defense with McVay.
I’m much more concerned with losing offensive coordinators

I mean, if you hate your life...that's a place to live and work...I guess.
Yeah, I was stationed at the Wright Patterson Airforce Base 2750th Air Base Wing near Dayton Ohio back in the mid 60's, HATED!!! IT!
The only good thing I got out of that deplorable place was playing & singing on an hour-long radio gig, but other than that? y'all can have my share of that place.

It's known as The Mistake by the Lake for a reason. MM calls the defensive plays anyway so just another fail by the Browns...
To be fair as a the main DC in Dallas he didnt do a bad job... that offense really knew how to screw the pooch alot though
