Durde fulfills the minority interview requirements. That's not to say he doesn't have the skill to be a HC. It's likely just the system doing its thing...

This is also the Sean McVay offensive coordinator phenomenon. We will lose DC's from time to time, but this is ultimately Macdonald's defense, and we'll maintain consistency from coordinator to coordinator. The offensive side for us is the trickier one because you're more reliant on your staff, like defense with McVay.

Durde is smart enough to see what a mess the Cleveland situation is - he can do the interview, use it as good experience for down the road and stay put for now.
