They were bad hires when the Falcons did it in the first place and it was punctuated with the drafting of Penix AFTER they signed Cousins to the tune of 100M guaranteed. Unreal.
No doubt, it was an uninspiring hire, but I remember the moment I read the news that ATL chose Morris, and I was relieved, cause that was one less team that was in the running for Macdonald.

Belichick to Atlanta? They sure flirted with him before the last hiring.

Arthur Blank's head coach hires and fires since he bought the team in 2002, have been interesting to say the least. You can't argue that he should have fired most of them (other than Mike Smith), but most of the ones he fired probably shouldn't have been hired to begin with. I'm surprised Belichik had any serious interest in that sh*t show.

I disagree with the firing. Raheem Morris is a good coach, smart guy who is loved by his players. He had a mediocre roster (ranked right in the middle by PFF) and finished the season 8-9 (tied for first with the Bucs and Panthers). I just don't think that two years is enough to judge. He hasn't been a disaster, and he's been trying to develop a new QB the last two years.

This is what bad teams do. They lack patience and expect unrealistic results. Morris took over a train wreck, and although he hasn't made the playoffs, the Falcons haven't been terrible.

Well, when you have teams like ours with pretty great results after 2 years of a new HC, it makes other teams impatient...

"Why can't you do what Mike MacDonald and John Schneider did with the Seattle Seahawks?!?"

Not saying it's right or wrong, but MM is setting a pretty high bar as a new HC

Browns fire HC Kevin Stefanski

He was doomed when they signed Deshaun Watson. They probably make the playoffs a couple of times in the last four years if they kept Baker Mayfield.

Yes, and there are coaches like Mike Vrabel who take a 3-14 team and go 14-3 in one year. But those are situations where there were already key pieces in place, like Drake Maye and a top 10 O-line.

Dan Campbell went 3-13 his first year, and didn't make the playoffs until his third year. It's much rarer to turn things around immediately.
