I don't think they are bad either. The thing folks don't get is that the announcers go into the game with a set of stories to pump. Player X and their accomplishments. Coach Y and the job he has done. Team Z and whatever they have going on. Some of these narratives are bigger than others in terms of how the broadcast host sees them.

Troy and Joe are just really good at talking about those stories. Sometimes too good in that they push them more than they adapt to and elaborate on other stories either emerging in game or lesset hyped threads from the team on the opposite side of a story.

I have seen it happen with us in a few occasions even this season. In the Houston game for example. Even when we started crapping the bed in the 2nd half, the 'story' was about how we are the ascendant force in the NFC. They forgave the mini (almost) collapse and kept talking us up. Houston and the story of the work they did to claw themselves back into the game was sidelined in favor of the Hawk's dominance. So it works both ways.

It's not always media bias.

But. You can absolutley expect Troy to fixate on the story of whatever QB is playing the best because that's the lens he carries. We should all expect a healthy dose of Purdy Love unless Sam finds the fountain of redemption, plays error free ball and out-duels Brock.

Enjoyed the Dareke Young radio interview. Spotlights well earned recognition of how detailed the special teams coaching is for each game. Jay harbaugh reminds me of the Rusty Tillman era.

There has, to my ear, also been a telling closing of any generation gap with the transition from Pete to Mike.

Thanks for posting.

Joe used to sound flat-out disinterested in games. It really was a thing, like Chris Myers levels. He's better now.

But he's always been way more interesting in interviews.

Buck and Aikman are a fantastic announcing pair and have been for decades. they are also the Seahawks good luck charm. the Hawks are 3-0 in Championship games and 1-0 in the Super Bowl when Buck and Aikman call the game. Give me them every big game forever for the Hawks.
