Bobby reminds me of former Seahawks running back Dan Doornink, who pursued his MD while playing football for the Hawks and graduated from UW med school just a few months after his football career was over:

If he's not a first ballot HOFer it's messed up. 6 times first team All-Pro, 5 times second team All Pro, 2010's all decade team, SB champion...

There are no former players who have 10+ ProBowls who are HoF eligible and who haven't been voted in. Some can take a few years. I'm sure Wagner won't have to wait long once he's eligible. I'd expect him to go in 1st ballot.

I think the 6 time first team All-Pro and 5 time second team All-Pro is a lot more significant than the Pro-Bowl votes. It's basically saying he was the best or second best at his position for eleven years. Not even arguably the three greatest LB's, Lawrence Taylor, Dick Butkus, or Ray Lewis, achieved that feat.

To me, that's what the HOF is really about. Were you unquestionably one of the greatest players at your position in your era for a number of years.

I think he's a lock as a HOF. I just hope he retires soon so he doesn't look awful eventually.

Would say the hall of 'fame' argument most applies to Marshawn Lynch. He was one of the faces of the league for years, star player but might not due to other rbs having better stats in heavier run eras

Yeah, Wagner is a no brainer, unanimous first ballot HOF. Bobby is currently 5th all time in tackles with the inactive players ahead of him all in the HOF.

Agreed about Beast. His resume is a little light. He has an uphill battle to get in.

He might get in later with some sort of retrospective view. He was arguably one of the top 2/3 running backs of his era when at seattle- Peterson, Lynch, gore.

Wagner and Sherman are locks. Chancellor and Thomas may suffer due to shortened careers but may get a Kenny Easley path eventually. I think Thomas behavior at the Ravens soured a lot of people on him.

Carroll probably will eventually but there's a logjam there of coaches with 1 super bowl including holmgren.

Wilson killed his chances after the Broncos trade.

I'm excited to see what this current team produces. Kupp might for what he did at the rams but it's still early days on the home grown guys.

Earl's resume looks a lot like Sherman's: Sherm has 5 Pro Bowls, Earl 7. Sherm had 3x First Team All Pro, same with Earl. Sherm had two-2nd team All Pro, same as Earl. Both were elected to the All-Decade team and, of course, both have one ring and 2 SB appearances. IMO both should get in, but depending on who else is in their class, maybe not on the first ballot. And yeah, a lot of people soured on Earl. You don't flip off your head coach, the guy that enabled you to be a star in this league. But I still think he gets in.

Russell was borderline when he left here. He never got one single vote for league MVP, which for a quarterback says something. Those are the same type of people voting on the HOF. He needed another Lombardi/SB MVP or league MVP even before he fell off the cliff. Seahawks ROH is as good as he'll get.

Similar story with Pete. There are too many other coaches, Tom Coughlin for one, that have better resumes. He also coached in the same era with Belichick and Reid. He, too, needed another Lombardi. Now it's a snowball's chance in hell.

But I still think him and Earl are pretty much on the same footing. Both should get in, but maybe not on the first ballot. Wagner is the only one on the LOB that is a slam dunk.
