It always cracks me up whenever a player is mic’d up for the week, no matter the player and without fail, they ALWAYS say something like “just so you know I’m mic’d up”.
I don’t know what on earth players say normally on Gameday which puts the fear of God into the player wearing the mic but it’s funny as hell to me. This phenomena spans eras, coaches, players.
I dare you to watch one single mic’d up episode through the years where the player doesn’t warn whoever he is talking to that their conversation is being recorded.
I assume it’s to protect the teammate(s) from being caught saying something really unsavory and politically incorrect. No matter, it just tickles me for whatever reason.
