I think we are OK on that one. The Panthers like to run the ball. That is how they lost to the Rams (you can run on the Rams...see KWalker last night).
Our defense should be solid against the run.

But we need Darnold to play 4 quarters of solid football for 2 games in a row before the playoffs start.
Last night was a start. But that's all that it was.
He played 1.5 quarters of good football but at least 3 quarters of abysmal football before it. It was a great comeback but we wouldn't have needed the comeback if he played better for 3 quarters. (Our OC takes half the blame there, at least)

I will acknowledge that I was shocked and ecstatic he came back and won that for us. Its a good start but he needs to build on it. And Panthers are a good opportunity for that.

He could have been better early in the game...but I do not think you know the meaning of the word 'abysmal'

I think the mental aspect will be important next Sunday in Kittyland.

Over the last few years, McVay and the Lambs have pretty much owned us. Hurts to say, but it's true. That might have contributed to our slow start against them. Like Yogi Berra said once (sort of) 90% of the game is half mental. Notice that the spark that gave us hope came from a guy who has only been on the team for a month or so. Heed has no sense of our struggles against the Lambs, he just went out and made plays...and sparked one of the greatest comeback wins in team history. After that punt return, suddenly the whole team started thinking, "Hey, this ain't over yet" and the rest is history as they say.

Our recent record against the Kitties is much better over the last few seasons. The only danger there is over-confidence, which Coach Mac doesn't allow.

We should be fine.

I thought the Rams lost by like a field goal

The 49er fans already believe that they have beaten the Colts and Bears and all they have to do is beat us

Panthers feels like a letdown game to me, but never say never in a season like this.

With the 1 seed in their sights, there is NO SHOT IN HELL that this Panthers game will be a Let-down.

NONE.

I don't know that next week's game will matter much to the Panthers

It will help with the tie breaker, but fundamentally it comes down to their last game against TB.

Would need to fully look at tie-breaker vs TB assuming they win / lose the last weeks matchup against them

If it comes out as not mattering at all then they may rest players

Bryce Young is a shifty little guy, Bucs having a problem with him today
Agree. He will probably run all over him

However

MM will throw exotic looks at him. He will end up making bad decisions and throw picks

Darnold likely will do the same and we win on a pick-6 walkoff

Next week I see the Offense get back to being what it was earlier in the season.

Sam will connect with JSN but also involved Shaheed more and continue his connection with Barner.

This game has the potential to be well-in-hand by the time the end of the 3rd quarter arrives, imo.

I see it as the usual. We either come out and go up by 20 and it goes down to the wire or we are down by 14 and it goes down to the wire

imo, If we go up by 20, this game will be over by the end of the 3rd quarter.

This isn't the Rams or the Texans.

And we are not the Bucs.
