Damn, would have been nice to see him go out with at least a shot at a ring.

Doesn't sound like it's official yet. Hoping he waits. At this point of his career, wait for a contender.

The titans had guaranteed Tyler 3.5 M of his 4M deal. Players like that aren’t typically released unless it’s concluded that they aren’t worth their roster spot even after the huge prepayment.

Tyler likely isn’t thinking about a contender or a ring. He gets to exist until retirement with a hc, qb and others reliving one fortuitous year of reunion after which Pete writes his book and Tyler turns to full time real estate.

Lockett could have a shot at a contender, if a team loses a star to a season ending injury. I'm a little surprised Tampa doesn't pick him up. Maybe he just wants to play, and re-live some memories with a QB that seemed to have a good connection with him.

Not sure if he just wasn't used appropriately in Tennessee, or if he just really dropped off that much.

Cool. Stupid choice, imo. Why in the world would you want to play for a crap sammich like the Raiders? He should wait until an actual contender needs a guy. And he's gonna' double down with geDEWSH? Love you, Tyler, but what a strange decision. In your final year in the NFL, it should be about winning. Clearly it ISN'T. And I'm not buying any of that "mentor" crap. No. Final season in the NFL, you should be trying to get a ring.

I will never understand it. But, oh well. His decision.

You guys keep insisting a contender would want him when he was being surpassed even on lowly Tennessee’s depth chart. Perhaps one of them would have offered a practice squad slot.

Tyler ending it on a reminisce roster including the coach and qb is by far a better deal for him.

Yeah, there are a lot better options for him, even if he isn't an option for them right now. Since he was released, he isn't subject to the trade deadline. He would do better to wait, unless he just wants to relive the glory days for a few before retiring.

I'm guessing he just want to play. I am not sure a contender would sign a guy who can't get to start for the Titans but if he can do some good stuff with the Raiders a contender migfht be interested in signing him next year.
