It was one of the biggest surprises of the off season that the Vikes decided to put every egg they had in the JJ McCarthy basket.

You can see he is dressed and healthy on the sideline - CLEARLY - they are thrilled with the idea of putting him out there.

If they thought JJ was the answer he would be playing - but they stuck with the reanimated corpse of Wentz?

Now they may have no choice but to toss JJ back out there.

I would expect the coach and gm to lose their job. I doubt Mccarty even gets to Zach Wilson level.
He hasn't played too many games yet, so hard to say.
Injury prone so far though for sure

Well, at least my Bears won't be in their traditional last place in the division since 2022.
Congrats on that, man.

I mean...I'm not completely sold on Caleb but he's doing his best out there and the results speak for themselves.

I think he might play against Detroit.

Detroit's Defense right now :

Watching Wentz out there was like watching an mma fight that needs to be called. Wentz looked physically wrecked, the game was out of hand and they had udfa qb3 Max Brosmer active but failed to play him until the last drive. Looked like coach could care less if Wentz ended up on season ending IR making the udfa the permanent qb2 barring a trade or poach for some vet worse than Wentz.

I have to admit I'm very disappointed (and appalled) at Kevin O' Connell in doing this.

Showing such callous disregard for someone obviously injured is so outrageous.

Maybe it was for the best that Sam (and Jones) left for greener pastures after all.

Glad I’m not the only one who sees Koc as maybe not the quarterback whisperer he thinks he is.

The confession that he was holding his healthy udfa out for lack of experience is also baffling. How’s the kid supposed to get any experience if he’s not allowed to play in a game that’s clearly out of hand.

Given where it was in the fourth, there was little point of risking Herbert to injury either. They should have played Trey Lance and the kid. Insight would have been gained, but more important, it would be entertaining.

Wentz has gone 2-3 this year, decent from an aging backup getting paid just over vet minimum. Expecting Mac Jones, Daniel Jones or even Joe Flacco relief performances from Wentz was unrealistic.

JJ is going to have a rookie year’s of losses even if it’s not technically his rookie year anymore.

It seems to me Wentz’s internal clock isn’t working or he is just freezing for some reason perhaps the amount of hits he has taken reminds me of David Carr. Vikings had a chance of trading for Joe Flacco even though they had Wentz on the roster.

As far as McConnell goes in the wildcard game last year the Vikings the O line wasn’t protecting Darnold with Darnold getting all the blame which I thought was wrong at some point you have to question the play calling and offensive line calls you need to make adjustments

KOC's overall GamePlan involved the QB holding the ball a second longer than necessary to complete those long-developing deep passing plays.

And Vikings fans complained about Darnold holding onto the ball too long. He was simply following KOC's stupid-as-f*ck gameplan.
