This reminds me so much of the Tre Flowers situation. Player starts off great, and then his performance descends and team is (likely) trying to get rid of him.

He peripheral vision is ass. Good corners can read the quarterback and stay glued to the receiver. Woolen can’t do either one and if you run his way and somehow break the edge, Woolen becomes a target instead of someone to avoid because he can’t tackle for shit. Ball skills went from decent to lower echelon.

Even more incredible? Him being so fast… and still getting a “head start” lining 5-10yrs off the wr and getting burned still is a thing I truly wonder about. Like is he fast? Or is he just giving up? Or lost? Or confused?

That’s the most mind boggling part! How is he that fast…getting a head start…and getting beat?

If he’s were a lineman, you could maybe point towards lateral speed…a guy that can go north and south only.

But we’re talking a corner with a 4.29…

It has to be mental aptitude. Processing the game…I’d be frustrated as a coach. Usually, tons of film can get a guy with elite physical traits going in the right direction.

Not with this one…

I'm pro Woolen and don't want to see him get traded. CB is such a tough position and your always one injury away from a real problem. Even if he walks in the offseason I think your still getting a 5th round comp pick.

I also find it weird that the coaching staff not only play him but played him a lot against Arizona. It's not like there afraid of shaking things up (see Thomas/Knight) yet Woolen played almost every snap.
