I’ve got to align with this statement.

Seahawk fans absolutely created a home field advantage at one point in time, it appears that is no longer the case.

I’m all for capitalism but can’t support a version of it where people hang on to, or purchase Season tickets for the sole purpose of making money.

For those that simply can’t afford to buy and use all of the tickets in a season, at least make a substantial effort to ensure Seahawk fans are using your tickets. In the day and age of social media it’s not that hard to advertise in a way that gives you control.

I get it, the re-seller sites make it convenient but selling to the opposing fans actually hurts our team.

Wasn’t that long ago that I was proud of, and bragged about our fans at home games. Can’t really do that anymore and it’s certainly sad for me.

This has been a long standing debate and I understand fully that tickets are the property of those that own them, they have every right to do with them as they choose.

Personally I can’t respect those that sell to opponents fans. I believe they should make every effort to ensure that Hawk fans are sitting in their seats if they can’t attend.

I’m financially stable so I’d rather give tickets away than allow any opposing fan to sit in my seats.
Those that aren’t financially stable probably shouldn’t be buying season tickets in the first place.

YMMV

Yes, the once feared and storied Seattle HFA went from this:

1756897337088

to this:

1756897673305

That was sad and embarrassing.

If you "need" the money, don't be a STH?

It's pathetic selling out to other fan bases, period. If you can't go, find Seattle fans to sell it to.
Last I check when buying tickets it doesn't ask which team you support, just your payment info.

You worried the Hawks can't win without the additional noise?

Real easy to say sell only to Hawk fans. You try it, I know myself and my friends can't afford it.

I mean technically it's allowed, but "12 as One" is a core part of this team's identity.

If you're holding season tickets with the sole purpose of reselling for profit, then you are the literal definition of a sell-out.

Thats probably just the total sold by vivid seats. I would assume the majority of season ticket holders will be going to this game. At least the ones I know are
Unfortunately, there’s a big chunk of current season ticket holders who are, quite frankly, front running bandwagonners who utilize these tickets as a supplemental source of income.

Nah, some of that stuff he brings is to funny though
I like the signs. Childish yet effective. It's funny how santa clara has had the upper hand the last 4 or so seasons meanwhile completely forgetting the previous
20.Pete owned SF, made a good head coach quit .

The last time they won anything people were wearing MC Hammer pants .

I think there will be an overwhelming $ of 49er fans at this for several reasons. A lot of bay area transplants live in the Seattle area. Also STH would rather sell 1 or 2 of the big ticket games for a HUGE profit, than hoping to break even on the rest.

Interest in sports has declined nationwide, so the market for game tickets has diminished significantly, not only in Seattle and the PNW, but in other areas of the country as well. In addition, the advent of the secondary ticket market has made accessing game tickets so much easier than it was 30 years ago when I last owned Seahawk season tickets and electronic tickets has made them easier to transfer, so visiting team fans can access them where it was nearly impossible to do so before. It used to be that if I couldn't go to the game and couldn't find a taker a week in advance so I could snail mail them, I had to eat them.

I don't have a lot of sympathy for those complaining about STH's reselling tickets they can't use to opposition fans. It's not their fault that the market for selling tickets is so shallow. If they are buying them for the sole purpose of reselling them on the secondary market to make a profit, then that's another issue. But IMO insisting that a STH re-sell their tickets exclusively to other Seahawks fans is absurd. How is a person to know what team the fan he sells his tickets to going to root for? Their zip code? I live across the street from a family that are die hard Kansas City Chiefs fans. I have a good friend that has been a Seahawk fan his entire adult life and lives in Colorado.

If we want to re-build the HFA we used to enjoy, we need to put a better product on the field. Winning is the best marketing tool. 8 years of perpetual mediocrity is how we got here.

I like some of what you’re saying, but some of it I’m not sure I agree with.

Your first point with interest in sports declining nationwide, what makes you say that? Is there a metric of some sort saying that it is?
In my opinion, I thought it was increasing. More women are becoming interested in the NFL, fantasy football is still huge, revenue streams for the NFL are still going up. Right? I could be wrong.

MLB might be going in the wrong direction. The NBA isn’t super popular up in these parts, but there’s plenty of star power in the league.

I completely agree with your final point though. Build a good product, the correct fans will come.

Winning is certainly a surefire way to bring fans back...

I think what they're going to do 1st is home in on the ones that sell seats for 100% of games and have been doing it for at least a season. I think what they will find are certain people that have more seats than they need and are using the extras to pay for everything year after year.

I had a co-worker who has 6 season tickets and usually sells the other 4 at every game (To Anyone) because only he and his wife go. Probably still does that to this day. I'd be willing to bet a very decent amount of STH's do this only for a steady extra source of income.

Then, and I think they've done this before...try and figure out STH dummy accounts that really belong to ticket sites. Not sure how they would go about it, I'm not a hacker...but good luck to them if they can.
