Dude, anyone could see this coming. The 49ers are desperate for receivers, and MVS is the definition of a JAG. Besides, Klint Kubiak is already a disciple of Shanahan's system.Another spy!!![]()

CMC did not rupture his Achilles. It was tendonitis (inflammation) with a risk of rupture. The "calf strain" was just what they were calling it during preseason last year. The calf muscle attaches to the AchillesI'm not sure that large number of carries is a survivable plan for CMC this season.
This was 2024 for him.
- Achilles Tendon Injury: McCaffrey started the 2024 season with a ruptured Achilles tendon, which placed him on injury reserve for the first half of the season. This injury was a major setback, especially after a promising previous season where he nearly won a Super Bowl.
2- Knee Injury: After returning from the Achilles injury, McCaffrey suffered a knee injury in Week 13, which further complicated his season. This injury was described as a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injury, causing him to miss the final games of the season.
2- Calf Strain: Additionally, during the preseason of 2024, McCaffrey experienced a calf strain that sidelined him for multiple weeks of practice, raising concerns about his readiness for the regular season.
That doesn't mean they wont run him into the ground though - so you are probably spot on.
I'm sure that will make all the difference in a 29 year old RB with a history of injuries./sCMC did not rupture his Achilles. It was tendonitis (inflammation) with a risk of rupture. If the offense performs well against them that is a very very good sign for the season to comeThe likely play here is Shanahan wants to pick his brain for anything that could be of potential use when we open up the season against them a week from Sunday. Doubtful much can be gleaned especially since installs and game planning won't happen until next week but perhaps he can pass on some general basic concepts, tendencies...you see it all the time across the league.

Not for the Niners. Nor for all the 'experts/insiders/analysts' who are predicting the Niners will contend for the divisional crown. If the offense performs well against them that is a very good sign for the season to come.
