I haven’t seen anything from this team. Pitching hasn’t been good. Two of them are injured. Offense has looked ok at times against bad pitching. I haven’t seen anything new to get me excited.

I'm not happy we are losing, but I agree with OP about not getting excited because this happens all the time. If they are well above .500 at mid season, I will be all in.

I’m still excited go mariners

What would you compare a 4-5 game baseball skid to in football? Losing a divisional game? It’s not what you want but it’s probably not even as bad as losing to say the rams…. That’s the beauty of baseball it just goes on and on and on….

Oh I get it. Committed to misery. But do you.
There's a difference being pessimistic and realistic. Expecting them to just waltz into the playoffs with the best record in baseball is naively stupid. So they won a bit. Great. It means nothing. Meanwhile, every dipshit here starts acting like they're the 1927 Yankees.

Who is expecting that? I certainly don't. I hope they make playoffs; I'm not expecting it at all. So, people are dipshit's for enjoying winning? Ok.

Also, F the Yankees.
Like I said, committed to misery. Why rain on people's enjoyment of a winning team? A first-place team?
Geezus man, lighten up a little. Speaking of laughing, I laugh at people's commitment to doom and gloom, I guess it goes both ways.
Also, show me who here says they're the 27 Spankees. Show me in here who thinks they're going to have the best record in baseball? Nobody is saying that. They beat the Yankess last night, people are going to be happy, oh the horror

And, for the record, I've been down the doom and gloom trail for decades, and I DO get why many people expect them to choke. But after winning 9 straight series, to immediately jump into "See, I told you so" mode seems a bit premature. To ME.

I'm not doom and gloom. I'm just realistic. A win is nice but I've watched this team suck for way too long to not get excited unless there is 10 games left on the season and we have an 11 game lead in the division. They started hot last year and shit the bed the second half of the season. This is the same players as last year and arguably worse on paper. Dipoto banked on players to have career years instead of projecting to their norm. Is it sustainable? Highly doubtful. But I never root for them to lose ever.
