I remember in the 80’s we had a tiny little black and white tv with dials to adjust the fuzzy picture. My dad introduced me to sports on that tv. There was no remote. I was the remote. I miss that tv.
My Dad would lift me on the roof to adjust the antenna when weather was bad. I don't miss that TV, lol.

My Dad passed two months after we won Super Bowl 48, his response, "Well they did it." As great as that moment was my fondest Hawk memories with my Dad will always be those early years. A simpler time in life when a shared Seahawk game could get you through the difficult times.
As I'm sure many can relate, my Dad was a Prince of a man. I could live a dozen lives and never be half the man he was.
To our Dad's.

The old school rabbit ears. A little to the lift, stop.....stay there......let's put some foil on there.

Or the times it just worked better while you touched the rabbit ears standing next to the TV while your family members were all comfortably seated on the couch shouting instructions..."more to the left", "don't let go" "hold it with your left hand and raise your right hand"...

Thinking of all the rituals, watching Hawks games with pops and the fam. All the way back to 76.
He called the house the "Dick Dome" (his name was Richard)

Certain pre-game food, etc. Just was always a family event.
Thats funny. My dad was in foster care for a lot of his childhood. His foster family kind of changed his name. They gave him their last name and changed his first name to Richard. Richard is part of our last name. In HS he went by Dick. I used to tease him and say, "i guess you were just a Dick in HS". Or one of my favorites, "I guess you weren't always a Dick". He had a great sense of humor and would just look at me with a twinkle in his eyes and a slight grin on his mouth. I miss that old man terribly.

Interesting to see this thread resurface after nearly 3 years. I will say this sort of topic has brought out the best in us.

I miss my Dad for more reasons than sharing our love of football and other sports. But, I had shared the OP because of the moments (and one in particular) that the Seahawks allowed me to share with my Dad which is buried in my heart forever.

Those who say football is merely a game just don't understand.

Now it's been Interesting to hear from my Mom about the Seahawks. She used to hate football but she decided to watch more and more with my Dad and they started hosting MNF parties and such.

I couldn't believe it this off-season when my Mom excitedly shared with me, "We got Cooper Kupp!"

I thought to myself, "Who is this woman... and what have you done with my Mom?" 😂
I was trying to make a thread about dad jokes so I was searching for anything like that and this popped up. Made my day in a sad cool deep life stuff kinda way. Life changes so much faster than we do. Gotta love your pops. And love to the mommas too HAPPY MOTHERS DAY WEEKEND ALL!!
