Kind of expected they'd move Pickens after the DK trade and new contract. He was already a headcase, adding DK to the mix plus handing him big money wasn't going to help that situation. Good deal for Dallas, basically a 3rd rounder.

This is a dumb trade for Dallas. In recent years under Tomlin, the Steelers have traded away the following wideouts:

Antonio Brown
Martavis Bryant
Chase Claypool
Dionte Johnson

Perhaps the league should be investigating what they're doing to these guys in Pittsburgh, but if the Steelers are trying to trade you a receiver, maybe you should be wondering if there's a reason why. And pre-trade, Pickens has more of a reputation of already being a head case than any of those others did.

I guess long term the Steelers decided that DK Metcalf > Pickens and they were only going to pay 1 receiver. For just this year, this doesn't really do much for them. I guess the upgraded from Pickens to DK for the price of swapping a current 2 for a future 3? Ignoring the day 3 pick swap

I cant even pick where I want Hardknocks to go.

Browns - QB shitshow - rub and tug twins if they sign Tucker to pair with Watson.
Dallas - Diva WR sideshow and just Jerry in general.
Minnesota - All your eggs in one basket with JJ who has played exactly ZERO NFL regular season games.

Steelers would be fun. The center snaps the ball and there's nobody to catch it. DK jumping up and down because he's open and then Mike Tomlin clapping his hands saying, "Good job, Do it again!"

A. Smith is going to be playing a lot of 12 personnel. So from that point of view it didn't make sense to extend Pickens long term but it would have been interesting see a duo of Metcalf and Pickens on the boundary.

The Steelers are always looking forward but I do have concerns that they are stuck in the mud by being a perpetual 8-10 win team. Not having a clear answer at QB kind of keeps them in that fate too.

For the Cowboys it appears they are going all in to take down the Eagles. Pickens and Lamb would be a hard duo to stop since they have Prescot throwing to them.
