I am sure our John Schneider peruse .NET, just to learn from .NET experts. So here, this is for you John:

If Mark Rodgers was unsufferable, now, think Deion Sanders, 24x7 Deion Sanders who has more popularity than John Schneider and Mike Macdonald combine:

An infomercial for Shedeur, he has time for a cup of tea and a biscuit before deciding where to throw.

With Geno gone, I did a deep dive on Sanders...
I see why people say if he had a different last name, the draft boards would look a lot different.

3rd round, yes.
2nd round, maybe.
1st round, hard no.

He does everything just above average IMO.

Now that we are rid of the real Geno Smith, the idea of replacing him with the poor man's Geno Smith suddenly sounds attractive.

Not saying you’re right or wrong. But I disagree with that.

If you want to explain go ahead but these QB are major projects and their ceilings are not that high. Just a bad draft to be looking for QOTF as the 2026 draft is going to be way better.

A lot of these guys have potential to be solid starters in this league. Some of these guys do have nice upside. There’s no elite level upside but you can’t base a QBOTF based off elite or bust otherwise you will always be searching. I don’t see any really deserving of day 1 starting type but there’s about 7 who can develop. Not one of them are finished products. I can go on and on but I think I made my argument here.

The problem with QBOTF is fans expect them to come in right away, don’t give them adequate time to develop and label them a bust after 1 year. GB has had 30 years of success by identifying someone and develop them behind someone for a couple seasons.

I hate the “next years class will be better” argument. It rarely is. Players go back to college, especially with NIL they tend to make more in college than on a rookie contract. Next years class tends to mean the top rated QBs are better, top 5 picks usually. We never pick top 5 (outside of getting Denver’s pick) so then you have to trade an arm and a leg to get one.

Not worth spending draft picks on QBs that are best average.

Station has said the league views this class better than fans do and he may be right. I’m sure there are a couple of guys who will be very good pros in the right system and I think what Macdonald is building is a good system for a young guy. Should have a great defense, commitment to the run etc.

I keep hearing the same thing from multiple people. Staton is one of them. He is wrong at times but he does a hell of a lot more homework than any of us. I’ll default to his expertise.

Starting to see mocks with Sanders falling into the 20's.
