Projected compensatory picks by OTC

Damien Lewis (4th)
Jordyn Brooks (5th)
Bobby Wagner (6th)

If Dallas were to hire Leslie Fraiser as their Head Coach.., the Hawks would score (I believe) a third round compensatory pick for two seasons in a row. Has to be a monority coach and has to take a head coaching position…

The team has had 3 successful drafts though.
Really? How many of those are all-pro or on the path to becoming all-pro? how many middle-of-the-road players? How many of those change the result of games?

or

most of those draftees were the type that needed more patience, more touches, better coaching, geeez, be patient?

The Seahawks are projected to receive pick #136, (38 points per the Draft chart), pick #172, (22.6), & pick 210, (7.4). The net 68 points of Draft chart value equate to pick #113 in value. It's obviously welcome, but it's not going to change how the Seahawks approach the offseason.

Yes. It has been.

You want the Hawks to have all time draft classes. That's fair.

But, to say it's not been success is not fair. They have contributors and starters from all rounds. How has it not been successful?

I think you're having a different conversation.

Interesting. I believe they're tradeable nowadays, right? People post a lot about "hit rates" but don't define what a hit is. For Day 2/3 picks, for me a hit is a guy who actually contributes a lot, even if they might be just a backup or a special teamer.

I'm just glad we get the picks this time. Has seemed so often lately that our FA pickups nullify possible comp picks every year.

Great players led teams to great results, great results led to recognition, and recognition led to accolades.

Average players led teams to average results, average results led to a lack of recognition, and lack of recognition led to no accolades.

If memory serves, a couple of years before he was traded. Russell accused the team of lacking in star players, and he actively tried to recruit star receivers. I agree with Wilson. So again, how many players we drafted in the past 2-3 years are on the path to becoming all-pro?

You can your definition and I'll have mines.

We can agree that the team needs to have better draft classes.

That's a really nice haul. So, they'd have 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6, 7. They're only missing their own fifth, but that's to finish out the Leonard Williams trade (a rare trade that actually paid off for them).

IIRC it's only 1 in each round and an extra 6th. I think the 4th this year was part of the Howell Trade.

so 1,2,3,4,5,6,6,7

I'm pretty sure the Howell trade terms were completed in the 2024 draft. They sent a 3rd and a 5th, and got back a 4th and a 6th.

You may be right. It was the only reason I could come up with only having 1 4th which is what I have seen a few different times

IIRC we traded a 2025 4th round pick for Ernest Jones, a 2025 5th round pick for Leonard Wiliams and a 2025 6th round pick for Trevis Gipson.

Ahhh, there it is. I had just used this site, and it's strangely not updated for the Jones trade. Anyway, another trade that finally worked out. I'm glad to get back a 4th in compensatory, though.

I found what I was looking for, this says 8 picks
