Two thoughts:

me and @SoulfishHawk won't get into this trouble as we aren't cognac drinkers, we are proud whisky dudes, lol, make it whiskey-based cocktail drinkers.

I don't have experience with this D'usse anniversary cognac, but it's probably pretty good at $5000/shot. I thought the D'usse was a cheap brand as they have $40/bottle cognac. I learned something today for sure.

Decades ago I bought a bottle of Remy Martin's Louis xiii, it wasn't as expensive then and I still have the bottle somewhere in the garage. The cognac was good, but the bottle's a work of art by Baccarat.
Have drank a few glasses of Louis XIII, very nice. 👍

I had sticker shock recently when I took my daughter to Taco Bell and it came out to like $30 for the two of us...
Same story at Subway. The price gap between these places and modestly-priced sit down restaurants has narrowed.

I've heard of vets having the younger guys pick up the tab for dinner, but $155K is insane!

That is crazy, my teammates would hate me, I wouldn't do any such thing. Blame it on the wife, get sick beforehand ANYTHING. That is near to 8 times what my retirement is per year. I made more working of course, but an injury then near total disability before age 60. I kept my house though, it was paid. But SS is not a goldmine.

One new tradition that I think is really stupid is this whole thing where the starting quarterback gets their OL crazy expensive gifts for Christmas, and then it gets posted by media members for judgment. I'm happy we didn't see Geno reportedly involved in any of that. Burrow went all out for his OL and I'm thinking "why?", they were awful and got him killed regularly.

Who else was there and I wonder if they ever had to do it based on their draft status?

I honestly do not remember how nice that cognac was, it was 4 decades ago, I was young and stupid. lol, I am still stupid, just not young anymore. I do remember the occasion why I bought that bottle though.

It’s been 10-15 years, but I just remember thinking $250/ glass was well worth it.

I should add, I realize that is a ridiculous amount, but I don’t spend a lot of money on many things. So, siping good booze, and collecting good booze is just nice. And for the record, I’m not an alcoholic.
