He looked really good to me in that 49ers game. Very promising start these last couple of games for our two lb'ers. Hope they can keep it up and we can finally say we are set at that position outside of depth.

Bumping this after Tyrice's first start - he did great. Starter-caliber qualities and he made some solo plays to slam the door shut on the 9ers. Between him and IV, gaps are now getting fitted and tackles are getting made. Night and day difference.

Dodson and Baker weren't good moves. Mike figured that out and turned it around, midseason, into IV and Tyrice at the cost of a fourth-rounder. Fixed the run defense in the span of three games. Frankly, I find Mike's offseason mistakes less significant than his ability to pivot like that.

The thing i love about him is that he has great anticipation of moment of contact and does a good job of getting there a splitvsecond before. This gives him outstanding leverage against o lineman to whom he's giving up significant mass. Its a trait you see in great RBs quite often and pops on the elite defenders. Chancellor and Beastmode are to prime examples. Lynch and Cam would regularly knock the snot out of guys outweighing them by a ton because the knew precisely the moment to engage them.

Knight shows that trait in almost every clip in the way he engages lineman and hits his man for the take down.

Great addition for sure.

Nice find.
It's an underrated skill/instinct in RBs/WRs with the ball in their hands. Too me, it's most notable when they need to get 2 or 3 extra yards for a first down. The guys that have it, cut upfield and go through the defender before he has a chance to square his shoulders and brace for contact. Essentially you make the guy catch you. Impossible for them to drive you backwards. The really good ones move laterally to make the defender open his hips then drive upfield through them.
It's kind of hard to explain unless you've experienced it on both ends. It stands out dramatically in youth football and why not going fullspeed or playing tentatively gets you hurt

Yup.

Spoon. Lynch. Chancellor

Deebo, Kittle

Bolden

Carson

Atwater v Okoye.

Chancellor v Winston.

Its why a smaller guy can pancake a guy considerably larger.

Its why i loved rbs like Earl Campbell, Sweetness - not that Earl was small. They knew the art of hitting.

Looks like he played even better against SF than he did against Detroit:

Tyrice Knight PFF

Atlanta is a little concerning.
