Hypothetical: JS (or maybe a new GM?!) decides to do a radical roster teardown and rebuild at the end of the season. In order of importance, which players do you really want to retain? Me:

Murphy
Mafe
Geno
Cross
Hall
Love
L. Williams
*Spoon
Nwosu
KW
Woolen
*JSN
*Zach
*C. Young

* - only due to rookie contracts. Without these, I have QB, LT, & RB on offense and IDLx2, OLB x3, DBx2. 3 offense and 7 defensive players. That's it for the suitable talent on the roster, imo.

This roster needs A LOT of work. Are you confident JS can elevate the quality of talent?

Won't lie, I don't get your list at all. If it's a total rebuild, what is old ass Geno doing so high? Spoon is way too low.

Murphy, Mafe, Cross, Spoon, KW, Woolen all essential pieces on rookie deals. Have to start there.

If I could get a new DC, I would keep our entire secondary., I would also keep all our WRs (including Metcalf and Lockett) and TEs.
(I don't have the problem with the OC that most Hawk fans seem to have, since it is clear he keep us in trackmeets or shootouts to have a chance at winning games. Running the ball too much makes no sense under those circumstances, especially with a substandard OL).

I would keep Geno but if we give him a 40M+ type of contract extension we are insane and deserve what we get. I like our RBs too but our DEs and DTs are either middling or brittle.
I'd also keep our punter.

Not sure I care about the rest of the roster.

If you're doing a rebuild, then it would make sense to get rid of the contracts.

Geno, L. Williams, Lockett, Metcalf, Dre Jones and Noah Fant. About 90 mil.

But you'd be a worse team until you replace the QB, Williams and the receivers with as good or better players.

Agreed. I only kept Geno because he is an above average placeholder at a reasonable price, and a decent QB is critical to a successful rebuild. The 'expensive' players I kept - Love, Williams, and Nwosu - all have fair contracts and are among our top performers. All the other high $ players are very much overpaid, imo. Especially the receivers.

A decent QB helps the rebuild. I'm assuming we can keep Geno at $25-30/, which is fair - he is a very good QB. I hated the Spoon pick, mainly because of a subject I don't want talk about and jinx him, but think JA. I also don't think he's having a sophomore slump - I believe he's battling little tweaks and reverting towards his natural mean. I'd love to be wrong, but I don't see Spoon as elite level or lasting much beyond his rookie contract.

How about we give this team 10 or 12 weeks under a new coaching staff before we start pointing fingers as to who to wax. Guys need time to adjust to new systems. This year is a rebuild whether anyone wants to admit it.

On top of that injuries are a killer. I would start with getting a new strength and conditioning staff. Keeping the previous staff in place was a mistake.

Otherwise, better health, improve the offensive line and linebackers and next year will be fun.

I was going with OP's complete knick down rebuilt. In that scenario, we need to trade stars for picks, and cap to sign other players.

We don't have much tradable stars, on offense, DK being the only one. Fant is an luxury we probably won't need under a complete rebuild. Connor William is in one year contract, so he ain't ours to trade.

On defense, we could try to trade Woolen or Mafa, but why? Our ILBs are in one year deal? Again not for us to trade. We can trade Leo ....
