Pete is a hof coach and fans constantly dump on him here.

Mike is a nobody rn as a HC. Factually.

Yet he is a genius. Make it all make sense.

I hope the best for Mike but the hate on Pete is wild.

I wish he was, because we would've ran the goddamn rock some more before it was way too late.

Pete dominated the Giants. We should have signed him for a one day contract.

One. When the Seahawks had arguably the best defense since the Ravens for a 4 or 5 year window. Pete was a great players coach, other than that he was absolute garbage in my opinion.

Pete is not a shoe in for HOF. If guys like Holmgren are still sitting outside of the HOF it's dubious that Pete gets in. Coaches in general have a much higher bar to clear than players for HOF birth.

He will be. He won in college too. He was 1 of 3 coaches at the time.

Regardless of that, Carroll is the only coach to ever reach the summit at both levels.

He is certifiably one of the best ever, and was a legendary DC before that.

I don't think he will. The bar is EXTREMELY high for coaches, they rarely get in the NFL HOF. This is also the NFL HOF, they don't put heavy consideration for collegiate success when considering the award, if any. Carroll did have a winning record, but his post season record wasn't that great compared to some other coaches. Our very own Mike Holmgren actually has a higher win percentage and more post season wins, better post season win percentage and is one of the few coaches to make a Superbowl with two different teams.

We're not even getting into guys like Belichick and likely Reid who are probably going to retire soon that have resumes better than that of Carroll's. Carroll as an HOF coach is not a shoe in, in fact I think it's more of an outside possibility. He wasn't even the best coach of his generation.

Once again, the bar for HOF birth is extremely high for coaches. There are a few coaches out there that have a similar legacy to Carroll that have been waiting to get into the HOF. Most of which have a higher win percentage and more post season wins than Carroll. The fact that guys like Shanahan and Holmgren haven't made it to the HOF, doesn't bode well for Carroll.
