Geno can throw out of safety blitzes now.

OC's are already taking Murphy into account.

I still don't know what anybody sees in Anthony Bradford.

Hot take: Lockett finally makes the Pro Bowl this year.
Would like to be wrong, but I very seriously doubt it. Among his competition is Ceedee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Puka Nacua (I think he might be hurt though), AJ Brown, Keenan Allen, DJ Moore, DK Metcalf, Devanta Smith, Terry McLaurin, Brandon Aiyuk, Jayden Reed, Drake London, Chris Olave and then you have to deal with a strong NFC Rookie class in Marvin Harrison Jr, Rome Odunze, and Malik Nabors, and then legacy guys like Mike Evans. Cooper Kupp has 14 catches tonight too.

A few of those guys will likely get hurt or disappoint, but I think that's just too much for someone who ranked 11th in the NFC in receptions among wideouts. And that was with Jefferson missing half the season.

What I see is an overweight, slow-to-react, top-heavy 3rd stringer that consistently gets beat.

And what I see in Bradford I see in Tomlinson as well... howbeit after only one game.

Frankly, I was surprised that Haynes did not replace either of them.

Mafe looked like a star. He had multiple plays that he blew up with pressure (both run and pass)

I thought Baker played well especially since he didn't play preseason or hardly practiced all camp. He will only get better if he can stay healthy.

What made me happiest, after the pile on of adversity to start the game, the team held composure, they held together. By the start of the second half they looked confident. They did not fold, did not look out of control, did not panic.

This is a great statement about what Mac gives them and the type of character they have collectively.

Bad as far as I saw, the dumb penalties, DK holding taking a TD off the board, offense line false starts.

DK hold was fake AF. DK popped him then Surtan grabbed onto his jersey and they called it because they thought he was still holding him. I think Surtan just didn't want to go down there and look like a chump

Hot take? Tyler Lockett is still the best WR on this team and has been since he's been here. He might not have the most yards or TD's, but the dude is as reliable as it gets and makes spectacular catches regularly (like the game clinching reception late in the 4th quarter).

I think you're right. Lockett is so underrated. However, JSN is coming along...

Rewatching the game..Bradford looks incompetent and lost.
I thought that last year... and in preseason this year.

I wanted and expected Christian Haynes to start either at RG or at LG.

Tomlinson looks to be TOAST so far this year. Another,,, hope-that-he's-still got something-in-the-tank... signing by the Seahawks that looks like another failure.

My hot take is I noticed the defensive players didn't (outside of once) jump in the air to block the pass with a 1 on 1 situation vs the QB.

The QB rolls out and the defender is closing in on the QB. The QB starts to throw the ball and rather than jumping in the air to block the pass, he just keeps rushing the passer.

It seemed kind of odd at first but then I liked it.

By not jumping and waving the hands...
The defender puts more pressure on the QB's body rather than the ball.
The defender can focus on the breaking down and perusing the location of the QB.
The QB's pump fakes are meaningless.
This heavily cuts down on the amount of trick plays a QB can do.

There was one play that struck me as kind of odd.
It was on the Bo Nix rushing TD.
He was well past the line of scrimmage and around the 4-5 yard line when he fake pumped a pass and Spoon left his feet to block the fake pass.
He could have stopped him short of the goal line.

Was a headscratcher for me.

Didn't get to watch the game so I don't have an overall picture, but I did watch the recap. Only takes I have is that the TD pass to Charbs and the TD run from Geno were things of beauty. The Oline was a big concern before the season started and it appears it still is. Great to hear the tackling was on point from the defense.

Also, I like Charbonnet and thought he did an admiral job last season filling in for Walker when he got hurt. Not sure why people are suddenly on his case.

I'm worried about the Patriots next week. They just smacked the Bengals in the mouth. Might be legit.

That play annoyed me too. I wanted Spoon to lay him out.
