I heard the Seahawks signed an exceptional kick returner/WR5 to replace him.

I tried to tell everyone, man.

I have no idea why people here were acting like he was a bad return man. He was objectively a well above average returner for us last year, and I'm not surprised that he is the one who scored the first ever touchdown in this new kickoff format.

Didn't want to re-sign him, but he's not a bad special teamer by any means. He'd be the best returner on this team by a fair margin in both the kick and punt return game.

It's like we all predetermined that we'd call DeeJay a shitty return guy regardless of how he actually did.

JS liked DJ Dallas, but just couldn't afford him. He signed with the Cardinals for 3 years, $8.25 million. No way we were going to pay that much for him. Laviska Shenault signed for 1 year, $1.29 million.

The problem was he was taking a running back slot on a team that experienced enough injury time at running back that our 3rd and 4th running backs often get heavy duty. And he was definitely not a good enough running back to get heavy duty. Maybe they should have drawn up play where he stands 45 yards back from the LOS and the QB throws him a rainbow back there so he feels like he is returning.
