Overall, I like it. MJ was on the bubble anyway and we are thin at LB. Macdonald leaning on his fairly recent college experience to get a guy he likes sounds good to me. I'd call it a net positive for the Hawks.

Apparently he hit a Maryland player so hard in a game last year that he cracked his helmet - its in Harbaugh's trophy case.

He was projected to go higher than he did.

Love that he has a chip now and thankful we have another body at the position. I think we are going to need them this year...

My read .............

I think this trade is all about fit. Jackson is better on the perimeter in zone. The DBs the Seahawks are keeping travel better and are stickier in man coverage. This trade is driven by a change in the defensive style for 2024. Don't know anything about the incoming linebacker yet. Presumably, he will be a better fit in the new Seattle defense. Likely a Smart Trade.
