I had no idea about the hitters finding it difficult to pick up on pitches due to the arrangement of center field. I just thought it had to do with how the ball flies off the bat in the atmosphere around here, possibly that our climate is cool longer than other locales in the spring, and the like. I don't know. Sure, make whatever change you can to make it easier for hitters to pick up on pitches to them.

Either way, home teams should attempt to benefit themselves in their stadium designs. The Yankees famously built the short right-field for Ruth and Gehrig to play in.
If there was a player on this team that had a proclivity like that or even one tenth the talent, then I might be persuaded towards that argument. As it stands, no one on this team is capable of actually hitting the damn ball. Sorry, I'm a little salty about it but there is absolutely zero excuse for this teams collective BA, and blaming the home field on it just reeks so hard.

I think the problem with our scoring is there thinking they have
to hit the home run or base hit.

Many times with the bases loaded or players on, they swing at
pitches way out of the zone when we could of walked runs in.

It’s like they think they got to get a hit and swing at everything.

Current Mariners hitters are very undisciplined... that's the problem.

This is true.

Exactly. It's all excuses.
Theres no excuse for the M's offense being this bad (awful) but every hitter will tell you they prefer hitting in a dome with a straight backdrop. The only hitters who have consistently hit really well in that park are all all star/HOF tier players. In general, it's not a hitters park. That's just a fact. They moved the fences in a little bit like 10 years ago. Spidey sense tells me t's the backdrop, the north side of the stadium being completely open (hitting into the wind?), and the weather here until July. Colorado has similar weather but their elavation is so much higher. MLB stadiums last like 30-40 years I think that park is 25 years. Idk man. I vote dome again. Or at least completely cover up the stadium. And turn up the heat.

Here's the funniest thing about this topic:
M's offense doesn't make contact anyway they could play on the moon theyre still not scoring runs

We had a team back in 2k1 that didn't seem to have a problem hitting.

I just don’t buy the ballpark excuse, sorry. If anything we should have an advantage, as we’re there all the time…it’s our park ffs!

We’ve been outscored 7-2 over the past two days…ballparks fault???

I don't really get the ballpark thing. Maybe somebody can explain it to me. If it's hard to hit home runs, then just do contact swings and sign players who are good at that?

The only thing I can think of is that power hitters might be turned off playing for Seattle. However, this tells me they value basic stats waaay too much. We shouldn't want these players? The game is about winning. Besides, there are advanced stats that will adjust for the park they play in which can identify skills fairly across the board, and for sure every team's front office and every player's agent is looking at those and judging accordingly, so this shouldn't have an effect on their career earnings. The only thing it affects is "glory", such as being able to brag about your basic stats like career home runs.

Also, the opposing team has to play in the same park, too, so it's not like there is a disadvantage when actually playing.

I'm not creating an "excuse" for this year's team.
This is something that goes way back to the start of Safeco, hitters
have complained about the batters eye in center.
It's an issue period, players don't like to hit here, I'm sure it does
affect FA's coming here and no it's not helping the home team hit at all
in any year.

The complaint has been the hitters are having a hard time picking up the baseball after it leaves the pitchers hand which I call BS on the back drop in centerfield is black which a white baseball will have the most contrast

Mariners big problem is how the game is managed offensively IMO they rely too much on HRs for scoring they need to replace most of the power hitters with faster players who can manufacture runs stolen bases, bunting, called plays such as hit and run.

If Alex Cora would become available after this season I would be very interested he is presently a lame duck coach

The M's have the 11th most stolen bases, and they just showed on a broadcast the other night that they have the 3rd most bunts for base hits. So while I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, they are doing those things you're asking for pretty well compared to the rest of the teams in MLB.
