Are these just NFL themed OR are they owned BY the NFL? I would assume that has something to do with it or whatever.
But i do agree it does annoy me to see the NFL and Sports betting "snuggle in bed together" now.
From the story…
Prior to the 2018 court decision, the NFL was a staunch opponent of allowing people to bet legally on its games. In the years since, the organization has cashed in on sports betting by sharing NFL trademarks and data with Caesars Entertainment, DraftKings and FanDuel. Now, the NFL will slap its logo on slot machines all over Las Vegas as part of a multiyear agreement with Aristocrat Gaming struck in 2021, the company said in a news release.
So if a nfl player or coach plays this game, are they in trouble for betting on the nfl?
You hit the nail on the head. I'm a counselor in a Penitentiary. We do have men in prison for actions they took to cover gambling debt, to include murder.Yeah, this is really disgusting. I don't mean to sound righteous, but gambling is a vice just like any other unhealthy habit. People who can least afford it can get addicted to it.
At my former place of employment, we had a husband and wife who racked up some huge gambling debts, then when their kids refused to help pay them, they both committed suicide. It literally destroys families.
The league might as well be slapping their logos on packs of cigarettes and beer. They have zero social responsibility anymore.
Again at my former place of employment, I had an elderly employee, a Laotian man who didn't speak real good English and with two daughters who also worked for me, who suddenly disappeared and was suspected to have been murdered over a gambling debt. They found one of his tennis shoes near a boat launch on the Columbia but never found his body or any other trace of him.You hit the nail on the head. I'm a counselor in a Penitentiary. Years ago, Oregon had a lottery game called "Sports Action" where you could bet the spread of NFL games. The NFL pitched a fit but it was allowed to continue. When Paul Allen bought the Seahawks, there was a brief mention of him moving the Hawks to Portland. The NFL informed him that it would not permit it due to the Sports Action Lottery game.
Goodell has been a great "earner" for the NFL but the selling out of it's basic principals and integerity has been staggering under him. I could get behind it if the NFL would establish some sort of medical/mental heath coverage for players. Something that absorbs the expenses that former players have due to the long term impact of their injuries.
I do too. This is hypocritical and a bad idea.Again at my former place of employment, I had an elderly employee, a Laotian man who didn't speak real good English and with two daughters who also worked for me, who suddenly disappeared and was suspected to have been murdered over a gambling debt. I know that I'm preaching to the choir with regard to you, but a lot of people don't realize that a gambling addiction is a serious problem that has some very dire consequences every bit as bad as drugs or alcohol. It truly acts like a drug.
I remember the sports lottery game that Oregon ran. There were a few other states, I think Connecticut was one of them, that ran a similar lottery. They could get away with it only because their state was not home to an NFL team.
I also find it extremely hypocritical for the league to hand down some of the heaviest suspensions for violations of their gambling policy, but it doesn't bother them one iota to jump in bed with the gaming industry.
Goodell is nothing but a front man for the owners. He's the piano player in the whorehouse. Your angst needs to be directed at the Jerry Jones's and Mike Browns' of the world. They're the ones responsible for this money-grubbing organization that has zero social responsibility.I really dislike Goodell , for a lot of reasons. Getting in bed with Las Vegas
Is just the latest.
