There's no doubting his athleticism. Between back flips, 40 times and hitting the roof with his passes, it seems more circus act than franchise-caliber potential to me. But what do I know? Maybe we snag him and he ends up being our future star.

Speculation from league insiders during Florida’s pro day is the Seattle Seahawks could be the team that leapfrogs the Indianapolis Colts and trades up with the Arizona Cardinals to secure Richardson.

There's too much buzz around this guy. It feels like Levis is sinking like a rock, so if Seattle wants Richardson (and I have no idea if they do) they'll have to trade up to 3. Arizona is not an ideal trade partner. The Hawks would have to be 100% sold on Richardson to meet Arizona's price.

The trade itself seems to be a win-win for both teams. Seattle is taking more of a gamble on their selection but they get a chance at a premier QB. Arizona leaves the draft with either Will Anderson or Tyree Wilson and adds an additional draft pick.

I truly think this is going to be the play… amazing we have to go up to 3 to get him but I’m all for the gamble and it gives Pete/John the QB freakazoid athlete they’ve always coveted… I just hope in a few years we can make Allen like leaps while on a rookie deal to be in a SB window…

What do you guys think will be fair compensation to move up to 3 and what do we actually end up giving to get there?

I think Pete is mugging for the cameras, trying to convince other teams Seattle will take a QB at 5, trying to shake great trade offers out of other teams to trade down a couple spots and pick up more draft capital.

I could see the Hawks snagging Richardson, but with Geno and Drew under contract, it just seems iffy. Could also be trying to cause Will Anderson to fall to them by triggering a desperation run on QBs.

The cost to move up won’t be much for the Seahawks, who have another first-round pick — the 20th selection.

Richardson needs to sit a year to develop. At least. And Drew's contract is a one-year deal. And Geno's contract has no guaranteed salary in 2024 or 2025. There will be a signing bonus pro-ration on the cap those years, but if they wanted to move on after this seaon, the deal is absolutely structured so that they can do so.

This fact and the QBs that are in this draft are not coincidental.

I think Richardson will be a superstar if he lands in the right situation. Where he can learn for a year or so with no expectation of playing. He's not Malik Willis. He can run an offense, and he uses the whole field as a passer.

The two best situations are probably with Seattle and Las Vegas.

It's going to be a really fun draft day.

Well, if 'football gymnastics' ever becomes a separate sport - this guy might become a top player.

My concern is that even on as solid a program as Florida, he didn't win enough. Not even sure I saw that much from him in the big games.
Carroll has a track record with QBs, I guess we will see.
But honestly, I don't see anyone that screams great opportunity right now.
You almost HAVE to pick a QB when you draft at 5. Since it is tough to get that high a pick without an abysmal record. But it doesn't look like a great QB crop to me at all this year.
I like Hooker a lot. Not at #5. Not sure I would pick AR at even 15, much less 5. Levis is worth a 2nd rd flyer. But the rest are complete crapshoots.
Fingers crossed I guess.

If we traded up to #3 it shouldn't be Richardson as the target. Compare Anderson to Richardson. Not a close contest, especially when you have Geno in the bag.

You guys realize Hendon Hooker is already 25 years old right? By the time he’s starting he would most likely be at minimum 26 and maybe 27 years old… AR is only 20 years old and has just 13 starts under the belt… in a scenario like ours we are one of only a few teams I think he truly could become a superstar with time, tutelage, and not forced into action. His entire career is ahead of him… Hooker’s could arguably already be half over in his mid to late 20s by the time he’s called upon!

I agree with the notion if you’re going to draft in the top 5 you almost have to take a QB because we won’t get this chance again to get the Adonis prospect at the position.

I’ve flip flopped so much but…I’ve got to agree here.

I’m ready for this guy to be a Hawk.
