I'm guessing this is the happiest day of Hackett's life, get me the HELL out of this impossible dumpster fire..
For those of you keeping score, which list is longer, coach's Russ has fired, or bathrooms in Ciara's house..?
Any coach taking this job has a death wish..
I think a few more games next season with the same results and Mr. Walmart is going to have to sit Russ down and explain the facts of life. You are not holding up you end of the bargain at this point, either you make a vast contract restructure or we bite the bullet and park your short butt on the bench. We will lose money, you will lose your reputation and be finished in this league. No matter the cost, they simply cannot continue on with this kind of failure. Four more years of this can't continue..
If he restructures it will make it more plateable to dump him all together. Watching him all season, I don't see any possible cure, he is finished.

This will be interesting. Who the hell wants to coach this dumpster fire of a team? Russ is now the coach killer.
Yeah, that's the $64K question, isn't it? The Broncos traded the farm for Russell then signed him to an expensive, long term contract. When head coaching lifespans are measured in months like Hackett's was, none of the top candidates, such as Sean Payton, will want anything to do with the Broncos.

One thing that's a bit surprising is that the statement seems to indicate that they're sticking with their GM George Paton, the one that orchestrated the Wilson trade and made the decision to extend his contract.

Damn I was really hoping Hackett would've stayed for the remainder of the season to hopefully guarantee 2 more losses, not that I think anything will drastically change with Russ leading that offense but you felt good about Hackett keeping that organization in the gutter for the rest of the season.

Hackett wasn't ready to be a head coach, but I think we can all agree that he was set up to fail by Russell Wilson. This will be interesting as it develops through the last games of the season and of course the offseason.
Imagine getting your dream job, you're on cloud 9, you're the boss, you're in charge of building your dream team, and you hire that one guy that can take you to the top...but instead, that guy shreds your company apart from the inside, he's turned your other employees against you, as well as your customers, and now, you're unemployed, you had take the fall because your higher-ups had no choice but to keep him & fire you because of his contract & the salary that comes with it, they have to salvage him, and that meant you had to be out of the picture, so they can replace you with someone better. And now, if you ever want to get that dream job somewhere else, you have to spend time & rebuild your reputation. That dream job can turn into your own personal nightmare quickly.

Just read this little gem from Mile High Report, and it couldn't be more accurate:

"This franchise is a heaping pile of dog shit. It’s an embarrassment. It’s an embarrassment to what this franchise used to represent. It’s an embarrassment to the players, coaches, front-office people and employees who represented this organization. It’s an embarrassment to the NFL. It’s an embarrassment to the fans. If there was any justice, this team would get relegated to the old XFL. The new ownership group needs to take a serious look at where this pathetic monstrosity stands and if anyone is worthy of sticking around."

Denver is the first NFL franchise trapped by a player's contract. You see it in the other pro leagues all the time, but this is the first I can recall in pro football. I give it one more year, but if Mr. Unlimited Interceptions continues his downward spiral, Denver will do something drastic.
