Servais comments aside, the long reliever in baseball these days has gone the way of the fullback in football, rather rare.
Yep, I think you should have a long reliever. You need a guy that will eat innings that so you won’t tax your starters and can come in and soak up those innings in blow outs (either way).

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m PDT.

Yankees righty Gerrit Cole (9-4, 3.56 ERA) will face Mariners righty Luis Castillo (5-4, 2.95 ERA).

Sounds like Julio will be at until least Friday (off day Thursday). Saw this coming with this group with the off day Thursday.

Two runs probably wins the game. Unfortunately not sure we can get that.

Someone explain to me what in the wide world of sports is Lamb is hitting 4th?

Scott’s lineups are real head scratchers at times.

One thing is forsure... Luis Castillo is a BEAST. Shut down the best lineup in baseball for 7 innings of 2 hit 1 walk ball. Godly performance

Going to be a real shame if we waste it

Never seen a team look at so many strikes right down the middle of the plate. They were agressive against this guy a week ago and beat him. It worked, so let’s stop doing it?

What a performance by Castillo. This game will come down to the pens now.

Agreed I would have bunted him over, especially with Suarez and Cal coming up.

Jake Lamb should have been bunting there, no question, but SS is trying to be clever by not bunting there.

I think once Julio is back, we shouldn’t see Winker in the OF anymore. He can platoon DH with Santana and whoever else. It should be Julio, Haniger and Haggerty in the OF and sprinkle in some Moore and Kelenic.

Brash is too young and inconsistent to be in this situation.
