There's zero doubt in my mind that the Seahawks want Lock to win the QB job. They won't hand it to him but it's pretty obvious they believe he "could" be a solution beyond 2022.

Lock the prospect probably would have. Lock with three years of hindsight would be lucky to go in the fifth round.
I think this is fair. Maybe a fourth for a very desperate team.

Yeah this argument is really silly. Their grade of him coming out of college would have been higher than these QB's this year. Fantastic, only problem is Locke has had three more years to go out and prove he can be an NFL starter and he failed to do so. We have a lot more info now to work with.
I guarantee if you stuck him in this years draft teams would not be spending a third or even a fourth on him now (besides the Seahawks apparently). Shoot he was only a second rounder to begin with for a reason. He has the arm, height, and physical traits but he has not shown what it takes to be an actual good QB.
I mean Mayfield was picked first over all and shown a lot more ability than Locke and the Browns can't seem to get a decent pick for him. I doubt the Broncos would have been able to trade Locke for much more than 6th or 7th.
This kind of non sense being said by Pete is an insult to everyone's intelligence. Its simply not true. You can't just ignore 3 years of failure and act like it didn't happen or that it doesn't factor in.

Pete Carroll is a QB whisperer. Everywhere he goes, QBs play well. Even his backups like Matt Cassel and Tarvaris Jackson. So I expect Lock to play noticeably better here than in Denver.

It is so funny watching all of you go so overboard in the other direction when you are talking out of your ***. What he did in Denver with very little support is no indication of what he (might) do here with a second chance. Stop being *** hats. I know for a fact (which is not true) all of you would not do any better at anything with a second chance. Your absolutes are just so typical of your ***** I know more then any body else agenda and it is so ******* tiresome.. Justs get over yourself!! Thank you for your time!!

He looked good in those last 3 games. Did you watch any of them?
You mean where he went 0-3, averaged 186 yards passing, and had just one TD pass? Yeah, I was on the edge of my seat. And apparently the Broncos were encouraged as well, given that they decided to mortgage their future to upgrade from Lock and his cheap rookie contract.

Thank you for your post, nice to see reality for once rather than all of these negative Nellies. Lock didn't fail Denver, Denver failed Lock...!

Your numbers are correct, but you've forgotten "it's a team game".
Vs LV, Lock did have only 153 yards, no TDs no INTs. Carr had 1 TD and 2 INTS.
Vs LA, Lock had 245 yards, 1 TD. Herbert had 232 yards, 2 TDs...not INTS for either.
Vs KC, starting right tackle slipped and fell walking into the ballpark(believe it or not).
Lock ran for 2 TDs vs KC, had a long pass dropped by Jeudy, Gordon's fumble was caused by a missing right tackle.
Also, Herbert had better receivers. Mahomes had much better receivers.
If Lock had been the winning pitcher vs KC(never mind Bolles, Simmons, Fant...anyone else), would you be feeling better?

Insult? Jeez, the pearl-clutching.

Lock's played decently in some stretches, and this years quarterbacks all have significant issues. Not really that far of a stretch to think him improving is more likely than any of those quarterbacks panning out to above-average starter status.

It's typical Petespeak. We should be used to it by now. What else would he say?

What Pete is saying is "We didn't love any of the QBs in this draft. So we'd love for Lock to take full advantage of this opportunity to turn things around to become a true reliable NFL quarterback so we may not have to spend a high pick on a QB next year. If he can't do that, then delaying the QB pick for a year or more pays dividends as we continue to build to become more competitive as a team"

Give him a chance. If he pulls it off, great; if not, draft a QB. At worst, Lock (or another interim starter) gives the team a chance to take advantage of a QB still on a rookie deal after the rest of the team is rebuilt.

Why do you make everything political? I'm all for a second chance for lock and it has nothing to do with my politics

Football is neutral, it brings people together. Let’s keep fans fun, and politics in the other board. Left, Right or whatever need to know when to hit the pause button.
