Washington Redskins kicker ranks LAST in the league in touchbacks, kicking a touchback at 24%. Expect some big returns from Leon! I apologize if this has previousley been posted.
First time poster by the way, have been reading the forums for forever just never thought to create an account.

Welcome to the forums, and thanks for posting. That's a nifty stat I hadn't seen.

I also recall earlier in the season hearing about they had struggles in the punting game, allowing a lot of teams to block punts. Not sure how they have been as of recent. I'm sure that's going to be something our special teams coach tries to take advantage of.

DVOA ranks us 3rd on special teams and the Skins 27th. So we should win the battle for field position and might even have a turnover or a big return. That could be a game changer. Let's hope so because I anticipate a fairly low scoring slugfest otherwise and a big special teams play could break it wide open.

Special teams will be huge, if recent play is any indication. Field position can be immensely valuable, especially in a game with two rookies making their first playoff starts.

Hopefully Leon can have a game like he did against a poor special teams unit in San Diego a few years back with 2 kick returns for touchdowns. The anticipation for this game is driving me CRAZY!

Leon is due for another TD return! IIRC he has only had one this year, right?

This worries me as well. I would have rather our team cut Banks and bring in a KO specialist than to keep that useless bum on the team. Baffles me. The work of Danny Smith. On another note: Seems our punt coverage team had issues galore last week. Hope that doesn't rear it's ugly head either.

However Crawford and Niles Paul have shown promise recently. We have one of the best FG kickers in the game right now. Our poor special teams ranking are largely due to 2 people: Billy Cundiff and Brandon Banks. Both of whom will not be playing Sunday.

I hope he misses some big FG's when we play them!
