Irvin inactive

Was over on the 49ers forum and saw that a lot of them are pissed at their team for taking dumb penalties and wishing that Harbaugh would sit some of their stars (Boldin FYI) to send a message. Got me thinking about being surprised when I saw the inactives for today and Irvin was out. Do you think Pete was sending a message that dumbass drive extending penalties will not be tolerated by anyone regardless of status?

He was inactive because he has a rib injury.

Is the rib injury legit or is the team letting him save face publicly? I heard him on 710 on Thursday and he was claiming he felt great. Personally I think a message is being sent and he'll be good to go in Washington.

The upside is nobody can blame him for not playing up to par this week.
