So after last night, has your mind changed or even been reaffirmed?

Pete brought up a great point. Both ET and Kam are great on kick coverage. Do we want him to take them off of that too?

But, heres my added bonus question that you can reply with. Assuming he continues to be pretty good at it, what happens if he gets hurt? How many of you will say "I told you so" and scream for Petes head?

Yes, if he's the best man for the job.

Tate was the #1 WR last year and still had Punt Return duties.

Thomas has also been the most durable player we've had in the last 4 years. Guy has yet to miss a single game. Has he ever even came off the field due to injury during a game?

He's a big boy, if he wants to do it, then so be it... I'm not going to worry about something like this, the team is free to decide whatever it wants, I'm just a fan and will be cheering for Earl or Bryan or whomever is the PR.

If anyone says that BS, they are going on my block list forever and getting shamed in my signature for being mouth-breathing idiots.

The only time PR's really seem to get hurt is when they get blasted from not fair-catching when they should, and ET seems savvy enough to know when it's appropriate (and he doesn't have the caliber of gunners like Lockette to worry about.) It's also worth noting that we get 4 games against SF and STL who feature some of the deepest kickers in the NFL which should give Earl plenty of time and opportunity to field and return punts safely as they usually out-kick their coverage.

I liked your last choice but kind of a low blow.

I hardly ever flip-flop to beat my chest and proclaim "I told you so"

If I do flip-flop, its usually because I'm gathering more information, more knowledge on the players and the game itself and my opinions change. Am I not allowed to think and be progressive.

Also, when I first joined this board I hardly ever sided with the popular thought and was more about providing different arguments, different perspectives outside the box for the sake of conversation. I think this is the biggest mis-understanding people have against me but again to each their own.

Saying "I told you so" about a football player (or any athlete in any freaking sport) getting hurt is like saying you might get in a car wreck if you go driving on the freeway. Of course it could happen, it's the nature of the beast. Personally I think he's more likely to hurt himself flying in on some of the tackles he does than returning a punt, which is really no different than if he gets hurt returning a fumble or INT. It's football. Guys get hurt.

Also take solace in the fact that Seattle led the league in takeaways, further eliminating PR opportunities. If the LOB gets a turnover every drive, Earl won't have to return a single punt.

Do what ever you like... if you are going to use Tokadub's examples then actually put what I've said in quotes in chronological order. I've been consistent in my opinions from point A to point B but over time point C is going to be different than point A as like I said as I learn more about the players and the game. Punish me for having a differing perspective.

And if this is about Wilson, then that whole thread went over your head as much as anyone elses. I still can't believe there is still so much butt hurt for pretty much saying in all of my arguments that Wilson is an elite QB in the making but doesn't have the tenure to make it concrete just yet and that he'll prove it this year that he belongs in that conversation without a doubt. So much butt hurt.

You do you man.

You basically just defined my 3rd choice though. Your answer to Wilson goes both ways. You littereally cant be wrong no matter what happens.

-If he stays playing this way, he will be elite
-If he doesnt, he wont.

Well duh. Tahts the only 2 options.

Sorry that logic is so hard for you to grasp and that you let it bother you so much so that you felt the need to include me as an option.

So dumb. Or should I say brilliant. Nah, so dumb.

I cast the 29th vote on this poll. Considering the subject that makes me a winner.

And it stupid because of what you probably thought was genius is now kind of derailing your thread. So, you can cry yourself a river.

As much as I want to vote no, there really hasn't been anyone else that's stepped up at PR other than Walters and the way Walters does it with the running start seems flukey and dangerous.

I agree that he looks like the best man for the job but I worry that other teams might take the oppertunity to cheap shot him. I like the idea of trying TP back there.

Assuming Walters doesn't make the 53, who else is left to do it? Sherman? Percy? Baldwin? Losing any of those guys would be a mega-blow as well. If the choice is among those guys, then it might as well just be the best returner because all four have become crucial to what we do.

No indication that P-Rich or C-Mike or someone like that have the ability to do it. So, unless you want someone to stand back there and fair catch everything, then you really don't have any other choice. Would I feel more comfortable with a depth RB/CB who doubled as an elite return specialist (e.g. Leon, Hester)? Obviously. Unfortunately, we don't got one of those on our team.

I think the loss of Baldwin would be far less severe then the loss of ET. It would suck, but thats hardly as crucial. And with that said, I would like Baldwin to do it, but for some reason, he doesnt seem to be an option anymore. I would also like to see P.Rich, and hes listed unofficially as the third option, but yet he has yet to see any chance.

Fair enough, but I think too many people get caught up in the idea that we don't have another player like Thomas and thus our entire defense wouldn't function without him. While losing him would be a huge blow, I'll "eat a mic" if a Pete Carroll team ever fields a subpar secondary. It might look different (less reliant on the single-high scheme) but it will work. Carroll has only been fielding elite secondaries with elite safety play his whole dang career (college and pros).

We've seen our offense struggle mightily when just one or two players go down.
